Strange noise from rear of car

I have recently noticed bang/thump noise whenever I hit a bump. It seems to be comming from the centre/rear of the car. i thought it may be one of the upper bushes on the rear drivers side shock as one had collapsed, but i just installed a new one and the noise is still there.

i have checked the TAB's (Toby TABS) and they are fine and tight. I have also checked the cv jpints and they are also ok.

Any suggestions??

Noises are notorious for being difficult to find. Diagnosing by description is even harder. Some of the more common things to check include:
suspension bushings
shock mounts (or a bad shock)
engine mounts (especially check the front left one on the transmission)
muffler mounts (this is a big one, the top, rear one by the alternator cracks)
Loose, bent, stretched TAB's or the mounts
missing bolt in a caliper
loose lugnuts on a wheel

Then again it could sound like it is coming from one place but it is really coming from another so check the front too. Loose stuff in the trunk can make all kinds of noises, especially when you take turns. Keep looking, as it gets worse it will become more obvious!

I once spent a week tracking down a horrifying rear suspension noise that turned out to be my spare jug of coolant in the trunk. The fiberglass tub can transmit sounds in ways you'd never imagine! My personal advice is to remove any loose items at all from the car - trunk, glovebox, parcel shelf, even the spare tire, jack and tools and go for a quick spin. See if that eliminates the noise or changes it at all.
