Has anyone drilled extra holes in the bottom of the lowest part of the pontoons to facilitate drainage?

I'm always amazed how much water, crud and rust build up here.

Any harm in drilling a couple drainage holes? We already do it elsewhere.

I wouldn't see a problem as long as you kept the hole small or put some sort of a grille over it (if the hole gets too big) to keep out critters.

My car has small holes in the bottom already, I think maybe one per side. They're probably 1/8".

I have never seen water in there, but than again, I seldom drive in the rain and my D is always parked inside.
But I an so surprised I doubt if I am thinking the same place you are. I am trying to figure out where exactly this water is?

How can there be rust? there is no metal apart from some screws?

If this is where I think it is, the area is accessable from where you reach the electric motor for the antenna.
You can glue some blend pad material in there. It helps blocks of to get water in, and certainly dirt and critters, but it will let any water out that is inside.
