Sunshade (front) options?

I've been on the hunt lately for a sunshade. I have tried a couple of different ones from Pep Boys (Auto-Shade brand) but none are a good fit; actually they aren't even a decent fit! Plus, our visors don't fold all the way over in the way you'd usually need to hold these things in place (at least mine don't). I'd ideally like something designed for the car, but I haven't seen any offerings from any of the vendors. I did see this one on Amazon:

The CoverCraft heat shield is great. I bought one almost as soon as I bought my car. That price on amazon is a bit high. I would Get it from this CoverCraft reseller:

They offer free shipping and accept PayPal. I don't like giving tons of online merchants my credit card info. The price is better too. The are made to order (in the USA) and take a week or so to ship. I love mine. I just bought a Toyota MR2 and am going to get one for that too.

Too bad DMCH doesn't seem to offer the windshield covers they did in 2003-2005 where the shield actually went on the outside of the windshield, thereby keeping the sun from ever getting to the glass. I still have mine, and I'll keep it working until it is literally in tatters.

I liked it, but it constantly got bombed by seagull poop and I opted for the interior sunshade.

Those sunshades attached to the striker pins in the door jambs, and the inside corners of the windshield header. If someone tried to remove them, they'd end up destroying the sunshade in the process... and would end up with a worthless piece of fabric. I had them for my Deloreans, and they worked great. But they were a bit of a pain to install if you were in a hurry; you had to get outside of the car, open both doors, get each top corner to fit without the other side slipping off, etc. Like Patrick said, you also had to beware of bird poop when you rolled them up into their attached bag.

I've seen the Covercraft sunshades on DeLoreans... they're impressive for sure.

Different strokes different folks my friends. I <3 that outside cover. The edges are a bit beat up, but man with the windows down it stays SO cool in the car. I love it.

Totally worth the cash. Not only does it fit but the color of the carpet on the back is a dead match for my headliners, and the thick foam rejects a TON of heat. Awesome product. I think I was the first around here to take the risk on it, but then 4 or 5 of the other NCDMC guys bought it after seeing mine just once. You've gotta have one in this part of the world, and if you're going to lug it around it might as well be the best you can get.

Agreed. Perfectly sized for the D windshield, and it is very thick compared to generic sunshades. I love mine. These have been sold to D owners for 20+ years.

One thing though- the Carcoverworld website is only offering free shipping on orders $75 and up. Works out to be roughly the same price as Amazon (if you get free shipping). Just an FYI if anyone else is thinking about getting one.

I bought one from an EBAY vendors 3 years ago, and it fit perfectly, inside the car it holds with the sun visor down. fits perfectly, about only 1 inch gap on each side at the bottom of the windshield.
