Old DMCH Disc Brake vs. New/Improved

Hello,

I think I have an older set of front and rear disc brakes from DMCH. My understanding is that this might be an incorrect diameter and DMCH introduced a correct replacement in the late 2000s. Does anyone know the old vs. correct diameter so I can identify what I own? Does anyone have experience with the older / incorrect diameter rotors?

I've attached a picture of the front disc and it's about 9 5/8" in diameter.

The difference is very small if it exists at all. [About 9-5/8"] is not accurate enough to compare.

I've seen a couple of cars with this apparent issue, and the only thing you see is that as the pads wear there is a tiny sliver of pad that starts wrapping around the outer edge of the rotor. So thin that it breaks off over time and does not cause an operational issue. If there is a measurable difference in the rotor diameter it would be on the order of less than 1/16 inch.

I'm not even convinced it is a rotor issue a much as a pad issue (pad vendors change more often than rotor vendors). I'd use them.

Thanks Dave. I'm surprised (but glad) to hear the difference is actually that small. I finally found my old receipts and these were from 2004. So, that makes them the older non-exact kit that DMCH was selling back in the day. Ultimately I would lose a lot of money trying to sell them, ship them, and then buy the new/improved discs. I would only do that if there were horror stories of brake performance or safety issues.
