Brake Upgrade

Does anyone know where to get these in the US? Everyone I look online the pictures look different than what is posted. I was also interested in getting the ones with the spacer to upgrade to slotted rotors possibly.

It says Ford 'Granada 2.3 / 2.5 Diesel' from the early 80's. Just wondering if anyone has some more specifics.

Nope, don't know where to get them, aside from ordering out of Germany per your link.

The Ford Granada of the early '80's that's referenced is not the Ford Granada we suffered here in the USA.

One of the better aspects of the DeLorean is the brake performance of a solidly-maintained system, setting aside the solid rotors. But one can never have brakes that are too good, eh?

I'd contact Ed Uding at DMC-EU. If anyone knows about the german parts he's a good place to start. He may be able to sell them to you. Always better to support out vendors than a disinterested party, and Ed is one of the best...

Messing with the brakes is not a simple as bolting and unbolting parts. If you are changing the size of the pads (or the pistons) you are will be unbalancing the brakes. Unbalanced brakes can cause the front wheels (or the backs) to lock up prematurely and/or require much higher (or lower) braking pressures making the brakes very sensitive. Slotted rotors can be very noisy. Unless you are racing, the brake system is completely adequate for street driving. If you want the brake system in top condition flush and bleed it every other year with Castrol GTLMA DOT 4. Adjust the E brake and make sure it works. Test the warning light. If you have to ever add brake fluid the system is leaking and it should be fixed ASAP.

I've had to pull an emergency stop more than once on mine. Nothing but praise for the stock setup. Despite this being a pre-ABS era car the stock brakes are nicely done.

If just one system on each of our DeLoreans works well and is always properly maintained, please see that it's the brake system. Per David T's list.
