Looking for replacement for the stock door switches

My stock door switches are a perennial problem. Not only do they work only most of the time, but I also just don't like the plunger design. I've been hunting around for a "proximity detection" solution that would not require moving parts.

Has anyone done a modification for this that replaces the switches in the stock location?
