leaking water pump?

After I removed the rear fascia I saw a coolant leak apparently coming from behind the water pump. Does it happen often on these pumps? Is there a gasket kit available?

if it is in the rear there is one hose that would not need any gasket. From your images it is hard to tell where the leak is exactly.
Could be a gasket, could be a hose or even a washer. Worst case scenario, you have a hole in your pump. Mine had a hole right at the point where the hose tightens on.
Yes there are all types of parts to refurbish your pump.

The water pump has a weep hole in the bottom, if the leak is coming from there, it is time for a new pump...

To answer the OP. It happens fairly often because of the engineering design of this engine. Most engines don't have 6 hoses sprouting from the water pump.

Just to clarify the water pump housing has has weep hole behind the pulley (under side of shaft). I don't see a fresh witness trail in your photos. Therefore this points to a loose coupling hose on the back of the pump.

What got me to know it was in the VOD was that when the car was level it did not leak... My driveway is sloped, and if I parked on the slope with the front pointed up-hill, it leaked around the crank pully, not out the Water Pump Weep hole...

AND a Coolant Pressure Tester is your friend....

All you have to do is get under the car and look up at the "nose" of the water pump (just ahead of the pulley). You will see the hole and if you see wetness or staining around the hole the pump is leaking. It is difficult to see leaks under the intake manifold with the manifold in place.

Thank's I'll check that from under. I tighten a hose collar and wiped the bottom of the pump. I'll check if it still leaks and pressurize if necessary. I think even if the car has only 16k miles it's time for a new water pump.

I had nearly the exact same identical leakage in Sept 2012 based on your pictures. I was able to lean over the fuel distributor/mixture assembly and clearly see coolant filling up in my VOD. It turned out to be the short, fat hose coming off the waterpump and going to the Y-coolant pipe. Since I was nearly 100% sure it was not the waterpump seizing up, I drove my car with a jug of coolant in the trunk and kept the coolant level up until winter hit.

Since my waterpump was 9 years old in January 2013, I just ended up changing all the hoses, gaskets, seals, and the main waterpump. Didn't leak after that.
