seatbelt stuck fully wound up

hi I have a new seatbelt that is not in my delorean yet,

but I pull the belt that's on the retractor unit I try and make it longer and it just goes click (like when you try and put a belt on in the car and you put too much force on it)

even if I put in in the car I wont be able to use it!! its fully on the unit any tips would be great

The unit reacts to the exact precise angle it sits at it the car.

If you go hold it in position so that it sits exactly where it needs to, you'll find the unit will release the lock on the belt.

Make sure you go to the correct side of the car for the unit you are holding, otherwise you'll still find it locked.
