Hi Everyone,
I was interested in purchasing one of those "EL Glo" dash kits. Anyone have any reviews on them? Anyone know where I can buy a set from? Thanks much!

As far as a review goes, I have had this installed in Winged1 for about 4 years now, and I really like it. For those who are "purists" in the strictest sense, the fonts are a bit different than the original, so the appearance is slightly different than stock. The dash is very striking at night, and has been literally trouble-free since I installed it. There is a dimmer feature, and the color is selectable - I have teal green and blue that I can switch between. It is possible to get them in different calibrations for those who have an updated speedometer that goes to 140 MPH, or with the stock 85 MPH scale. Note that the EL dash kit does not illuminate the gauge needles. I installed UV light LED's in the instrument cluster upper housing, and then applied some phosphorescent paint to make the needles glow in the dark against the EL dash panel.
In regards to where to get them, please PM me about some possibilities.

Interesting - I had written that dash off as I had only heard negative comments about it. Might have to re-evaluate...

If you like to see what they look like I have on at night I have a slide show on youtube of my customized delorean with air ride.... it shows the el glow on in the dark. Search for: air ride delorean on youtube and see many one off custom mods on the D.

I dunno, I'm sure the effect at night is cool but I think those just look terrible in the daylight :(

I've had mine over 7 or so years now. The same ones mentioned above that the AZ-D sells from "Speedhut". No complains except for disagreeing with the amount of double sided sticky tape (or lack there of) provided for the install :-) I too added red bulbs at the top so the white needles look red at night. I can switch between green and blue numbers/letters.
Here is a daytime shot when I was turning 100K.

Contact speedhut directly about $75
I have installed several of them mostly because I can't decide on the face but it looks Amazing probably the number upgrade you could do they have a website and a delorean template online so you can play with it online first.
Two things first get good 3M Doulble sided tape and there's no wiggle room take your time getting around those needles (I broke one and luckily (Dave DMCMidwest) had some extras. Because once it touches it's done you can not move it without messing it up, but I think that's a good thing you don't want them popping up.
Anyway number two once it's plugged in watch the connections (a design flaw) they sit right where the binnacle rest against the dash - but as long as you don't pull on them or move it (like I did so many times) you should be good.
I went through so many because I keep having to go in there for trouble shooting reasons unrelated.
FYI-Oh and don't get blue numbers on a black face if you plan to drive in the daytime-can't see but it looked great at night.
Changed to red incredible highly recommend just beware of the two notes above

For anyone who has put the El Glo gauges into their cars, do you still have the instructions?
Thanks,
Joe

No. But I knew Ron Wester (yellow D) had a couple issues about 8 or so years back.

If they came with any - I probably have them at home somewhere. I will check tonight and get back to you.

Here is a scanned PDF of the instructions. If this uploading downsizes the file and you can't read it, PM me your email and I can send.
