Probably had 3 today - that I noticed!

What's the deal here?

Happens constantly to me too - when sitting in traffic I occasionally pop a door for them.

If I don't feel like dealing with people while driving or getting gas or whatever - I drive the prius.

Do keep in mind thought that as often as not its drivers taking photos or videos while moving - drive defensively! When everyone is paying attention to your car, they aren't watching traffic. I'm a big advocate of convex/multivex mirrors - this is one reason why.

Here's a couple of stories this week.
Guy has an iPhone behind me. He has it balanced on the steering wheel. As soon as I saw that I pulled forward to keep him from rear ending me.

Guy on a motorcycle is passing me on the right. He is steering with one hand and using his cell phone to take photos with his other hand. He slowly is getting closer and closer to me. he went from the right side of the center lane to the left side of the center lane. I slowed down thinking he might "merge" right into me.

Yeah, no surprise here- happens all the time. People in cars on the highway matching speed to take a picture, people coming up and asking if they can take a picture at the gas pump or when I'm parked at a store. Wednesday when I had the D out for the first time in like a month after working on it, a guy on a bicycle saw me sitting at a light and pulled out his iPhone to snap a picture of it after I turned onto the road and passed him.

It's why I regard having the logo on the rear bumper painted in silver as a massive safety feature- people don't have to get nearly as close to read it/have it show up in a picture...

Stories this week? Well, several here too... Broad Street, Philadelphia. I was getting the normal hoots, when I notice a guy on a bike on the sidewalk looking pretty hard. A second later, he clips a lamp post with his bar, and down he goes.

Later, same day - cell phone camera pics. several, in a series. One of them was on the PA turnpike, and was someone I knew (Tim Borka) He calls me moments later, and tells me "I saw a DeLorean driving on the turnpike, I knew it had to be you" Later I get a call from one of my other friends who had received a cell text / picture, of me driving the DeLorean. One more a little later

Later, same day Mustang mach 1 tries to get me to race  It was one of those situations where we were on the highway, and it seemed like he was waiting for me to "go" and I'm like "shes going!"

Driving the dream.

You may not be the only one in the area for a week or so- if all goes well (ok, I'll be honest: if a minor miracle occurs) I'll be driving 16655 out for some work I've got to do in the Quakertown/Perkasie area over the next 2 weeks. :)

This is why I decided to get those stainless letters for the rear bumper. You wouldn't believe how close some people were trying to get to read the word delorean on it. Not that I mind the attention or anything like that, I enjoy it, but it just made it much safer to drive when I knew they could see the name from further away.

Its probably because they have never seen a Delorean before.

Good thinking. I'm going to start videotaping out the rear window whenever I drive.

Just get some nice dark tinted windows, something around the nature of 90%, then they will just be taking pictures of the car and not of you!

So people are constantly taking pictures of our cars. Have you ever tried to Google [your town] + DeLorean? I did and found this personally ironic shot, lol:

Gotta love those guys that come up to take pictures while they tell you all the facts that they assume you don't know. I get a kick out of telling them that I've owned the car for ten years, and that the last time I checked there was not a Ford V8 in it, and the logo clearly does not read "AMC." It's one thing to ask, but how can you assume I don't know? Heh

Oh, to add to what Notifier said: I don't mind people taking pictures of my car, but it is very alienating when the camera is aiming right at you in the driver seat.

That video is great. That was the number 1 benefit of owning a Delorean for me. It more often than not made people smile when they saw it.

That's my car that popped up when I was searching for other owners in my town. I just thought it was funny since it's one of those cell phone shots.

I tried this, I found 13 pictures of myself and the car within the first 3 pages of images on google.

YEp all the time here in Quebec too, where the car seem to be more rare !

I take the car to work about once every 2 weeks, so last wednesday I came back from work. on the highay center lane 120 KM/H, and this guy in a JDM Toyota MR-2 (right hand drive) pulls beside me on the left lane. So we are side by side with his I-Phone in his rght hand leaning on the side of the door. windows open and targa op off. He hit a small bump and the phone goes flying out of the car !!!!

So I start to wonder if these protective rubber around the I-Phone are garantied for 120 KM/H fall down on the concrete !!!!

I laugh all the way to home and told that story about 100 times now...

I tried that- but the problem is, I live in Lexington, KY- so I just get tons of stuff about DCS2010 and no pictures of my car. :P

No kidding, that's part of the reason I installed a rear view camera and an override switch. I am using one of the accessory switches next to my window switch to force the camera on even when not in reverse just so I can get a better look at whats going on behind me...

Not trying to pick a fight, but I am just curious: why did you install that? After someone rear-ended my car in a parking lot while I sat in the store and watched it happen (back in 2 0 0 8 [trying to avoid an emoticon]), I constantly, constantly, constantly look all around the car through both mirrors and actually turning my head and neck to look to be safe of any other cars, motorcycles, bicycles, or pedestrians are not anywhere behind me. What does that camera do that I can't ?

Like I said, not trying to pick a fight - just truly curious.
