Obviously not stock. probably an alarm disable. Trace the wiring for your answer. My guess is the wires have probably been cut.

Aha.....there is an alarm horn under the hood.
I'm not familiar with car alarms, when would a disable button be used? Maybe if the car was always alarmed when not running, this would be the only way to disarm it?
(PS Did you get my latest PM?)

The last one I got, you told me that you couldn't see my reply. I re-sent it from my computer a day or so ago.

Well to make it short, I suggested if you are worried about it being too short..just buy one. Put it on the front wheel and see if it works for you. If so then buy the rest. I also said that if you replace a few, then you should replace them all since the lugs would look different from stock.

A switch like that may be acting as what is called a "valet swtich" in the trade, a hidden bypass/override for an aftermarket alarm that allows the car to start the when the alarm fob isn't used to disarm it.

Sounds like a good plan...thanks!
BTW, nice job on that Millenium Falcon ....outstanding.

Whenever I find alarms the best course of action is to carefully dissect it out of the car. Even if they do work there is usually no documentation or support. And they are often very crudely installed. If you feel you just have to have an alarm get a new one. You might have to leave the button in or find a plug to fill the hole. I also guess it is probably a Valet button. Follow the wires for more surprises.

Whatever it is, and whatever it's a part of, needs to be traced out and fully eliminated.

I traced it out last night, it had a few long wires on it that aren't connected to anything.
I'm liking the idea on an ejector seat....
