Sounds like the wire to the idle micro switch. I'm color blind so I'm not sure what the colors are, but proximity would suggest the micro switch. Got a pic?

You can also search for the wiring diagrams if you have a moment.

Does it terminate on the spade connector for the micro switch? I think it's just an RF filter to cut down on noise and interference. Is your car a late build? A vendor may know better.

from where my finger is it comes out of the thing connected to the engine throttle body and goes no where the end of the wire is in front of the micro switch connected to nothing! crazy the car runs fine

From what I can tell that is not stock. Is it attached to the closing plate on the W pipe or is that just the angle of the picture?

Cheers

That is the capacitor that connects to the idle speed switch which cleans up electrical noise when the idle switch opens. Not all cars have that capacitor. It does help electronics in the car see less noise but you will not notice any engine running difference without it.

Agreed. They sprinkled those all over the engine in later cars, apparently to suppress spark noise picked up by the AM radio. You'll never miss it.

Funny thing though, we had a car in here with the capacitor connected to the wrong terminal on the ignition coil. THAT made the car run poorly as it damped the ECU pulse.
