Custom Interior in a Canadian D

it appears to be from a Canadian car, and now that I look back, I see it, second car in, on this picture from last year.

Anyone know whose car it is and/or how it turned out this way? I kinda like it.

I remember seeing that car. I'm not a huge fan of modifying the original cars to that extent, but it was very well done and suits the car. Quite impressive.

That's Gunther's car. He's an older fellow and I believe has owned the car since new. Retired engineer I understand and just wanted to do something different. It came out really nice, and like you said, not for everyone, but that's okay too.

I don't have many details on the particulars either, but here's a couple more in progress pictures from a club get together a couple seasons ago. I'm curious myself what all the electrical business is on the passenger side dash.

Do you know if he just changed the stock interior for personal choise, or was the original in such bad condition as to need replacing anyway and he thought "why not"?

I would love to see it in person.

I was under the impression it was more just that he felt like it rather than the original interior was in a bad/terrible shape. Don't quote me on that though. Mike might know better if he sees this thread (17076 username on here).

All you guys are welcome to come up and see it!! We got 32 cars at the British Car Day last September in Oakville and at least 6-8 of them were from the US. A few of the US guys had mentioned making it an annual event and a chance to spend a few days seeing some of the tourist spots. That first photo you posted Dermot was from last years show (and my car was the next one after Gunther's). DeLorean Car Show Canada maybe? I think a few of the guys went to a Blue Jays game, up the CN Tower, Niagara Falls and a few other things in the area. We'll have some maple syrup waiting here for your French toast!!

I believe you're right. I think after 20-30 years of ownership, he just wanted to do something a little different. I'm kinda neutral on it. I like the stock look, but he's done a VERY good job on it. Especially some of the little details you'll never see in pictures.

I think I like it. I think. No matter, It really suits the car well. I believe if it were done in a darker color it would have more appeal.

Gunther has had the car since new. It has been babied and was in great condition before he changed it. He did it by choice not by necessity. He merely wanted it to be customized to his own design. He has nice little features added like a back up camera and LEDs all around the headlights. It is a very nice car.

It has that 70's "Car of the Future" kind of vibe. Look at some of the cars from the short lived "UFO" series and you'll see what I mean. It's actually kinda cool I think.

I do not like the design either, but he dit do a nice job in finishing it.
That binnacle does not fit this car to my opinion.

Not my car, so my opinion on it doesn't matter.

However I will say that this is the type of interior that the Ferrari Rainbow *should* have had.

More realistically, a few of us were talking about going to DCS in June. I don't know who all was considering going, but if I hear Gunther is taking his car down there, I'll mention it and then you could see it in person.
