How do your door pulls hang?
Do you have the D-ring on the inside or outside?
I would have created a poll but... I'm stupid and can't figure it out.
EDIT... Never mind - figured it out. Patience.

You missed the third option - neither.
I have the integrated pullstrap so no need for one to be looped through a ring around the grab handle.

Innie. Mostly to try and get the bend of the strap pointing towards the car in hopes that it doesn't got caught as often in the door when it closes.

I integrated my pullstraps into the door like the later cars. The doors close MUCH better this way (pulling from center line of the door hinges.)

A million pardons to the integrated door strap crowd. I meant no offense. I was merely limiting the poll to the options for those of us who have the add on strap.
Anyone know how they shipped from the factory?
Cheers

Ours have never been off the car and they are both "rings-in".
One would assume that whoever installed them at the factory was acting under uniform and clear/written instructions and following those instructions. That's probably assuming a lot.
Pretty sure this aspect of the car is not even covered by the DeLorean concours evaluation sheet.....not that I've looked to check.

The interior door pulls were at first the strap added to the car, late in the '81 run they were moved to better location for closing the door. However having owned my car for 32 years with the added strap I have never had a problem closing the door, so i guess for the rest of my life I will leave it alone.

I think mine is an 'innie'. It's been at DPI so long I have forgotten. I know that from time to time the
strap would get loose and would even fall off. I put a little plastic clip on it with a pop rivet and it
stays put now. I'd take a picture but she's not here.

Next we are going to have a toilet paper debate Innie or Outie
My wife yells at me all the time to do it correctly. I don't know which way is correct

How about the "tie it in a knot and let the metal ring dangle" option? Somehow I doubt this is how they came from the factory.

Anyone check the service bulletins for a recall? :giggle:

I just took mine off. I find they hang a little too low to get proper leverage to shut the door. I'm tall enough to not need them.

QACs threw away the factory straps and installed better ones. I have a memo somewhere.
