I'm sure it's a simple job but I don't have time to figure it out. I've not got 2 seized cables sitting here and it would be much cheaper to have them rebuilt than NOS ones from DMCH for $122.

Anyone done this or know of a place? I did a brief google search locally, but I'm not wasting time as I'm on my 3rd cable and at 33 years old I don't have much faith in it.

No one "rebuilds" cables. You can find a shop that will custom build them but I doubt they will be cheaper than buying them from a vender. If you are gong through cables there is something else wrong with your car. As a general rule the cables do last a long time. Is there a ground strap in your car between the motor and the frame and is it in good condition? If the starting current to the starter motor is going through the cables they will not last long.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to get under the car today and check the grounds. If anything I'll remove them, soak them in some vinegar and reinstall.
