the WHAM probably got overheated!! (only for movie connaiseurs)

Looks like it started at the engine. I can highly recommend new fuellines, it is a fire hazard.

Well, there's not much left of that one, maybe some of the front stainless panels

So they are saying the average D is worth $28,440 and it should cost $18,840 to fix this damage?

That one appears to have cooked for a while.

That one appears to have cooked for a while.

The frame, suspension, and transaxle should be salvageable along with some panels. IMHO it is worth about $1,000.

Seeing pictures like that are the reason why I always carry a fire extinguisher behind the driver's seat!

I also just ordered Hervey's stainless braided fuel lines from the fuel filter to the fuel distributor along with the return line.

By the way, is there any particular engine compartment fuel line with a higher failure rate than the other lines?

+1

I just sent an email to Toby from DMC NW to put a stainless braided fuel line kit onto my next visit. I have the feeling that it is totally worth the money!

These pictures are scary and I do not want this to happen to #3922! :eek5:

Amazing, I hope the owner is fine.
Must be very impressive to see his engine went in fire.

I find it rather depressing. I would probably react this way:

Man a lot of these are happening. I'm getting new SS fuel lines this season.

Yeah it's kinda scary how many burned up DeLoreans have been popping up recently. It would be interesting to know what the atual root cause of the fire was...it looks like it could have been fuel related but it could also have been electrical.

Either way it's not going to hurt to replace those old brittle fuel hoses. I was lucky and caught mine leaking on the fuel distributor before anything caught fire.
