Just curious, are eyebrows something that happens regardless of mileage? The mileage is listed as 188 original.

Nice original/concours/collector grade car here - but yeah, there is something funky going on underneath. Perhaps an aftermarket undercoating of some sort, although whatever it is, it isn't very evenly applied...

Didn't later vins have factory undercoat applied. Actually I'm sure of it but I don't know the Vin range.

If you look it up using the 'eBay Motors' app., there's about 62 photos including many of the underbody.

It looks like a lighter spray paint rather than the heavier Ziebart system you would typically see in the 80s.

Everything is sprayed though, not just the frame.

114XX...not sure why they don't give the VIN, but that would be a late 82 I think. So, it falls into the ones that might have the undercoating. Was the undercoating just a small time like right before the bankruptcy? I've seen 83's that did not have it on them. From the buying guide it does say that it was applied in a sloppy manor and was not just the frame.

It will be interesting to see what it goes for. I could do without the wikipedia style 400 page add.

Yeah, I know that later model VINs had a factory applied undercoating, but 1) this doesn't look anything like the ones that I've seen that had the undercoating applied by Dunmurry, and 2) it appears to be very inconsistently applied - the bell housing has it, but the front crumple extension, closing plate, etc does not appear to have it at all. Like I said before, whatever it is, it was very inconsistently applied...

Something is weird with the seller anyway...look at the other crap that he is selling. Maybe this is Larry Flynt's car.

Hmm... something funky is going on with the pics. The set of pics that I saw when the auction was live showed a closing plate, but the ones up there now show no closing plate and no gas tank, as others have pointed out. There were also less pics of the frame/undercarriage in the set that I saw. Looks like a few of the interior pics are different as well.

Given that this was de-listed shortly after being listed, who knows what's up with this car...

While mileage has nothing to do with it, you also wouldn't expect to see it on a car with only 188 miles on the clock that was properly stored all its life.

An even nicer car was just recently listed - now this one could be a true drivable concours beauty with just a few things (correct washer reservoir cap, early style coil / bulkhead connector cover, and some NCTs) and a few un-improvements (plastic coolant header bottle and put the A/C back to R-12).

This one is probably the nicest car that I've seen come up for sale in quite some time and is fairly close to the condition of my car (although my car is an even earlier example (gas flap, dark grey wheels/caps, and a whiplash fender mount), even more original, and a little nicer in several respects) - and it's very fairly priced IMHO, assuming that it's as described (even if it has a hot start / other K-Jet issue, or if one of the windows don't work):

Yes, and since September it has done 150 miles and has had 2 owners (the raffle winner and the current seller)

I still feel bad for the reception that the guy trying to promote the raffle here got from several members of the community - that entire situation was handled so poorly here IMHO, but it's water under the bridge :mad1:

OK, so add the alternator, FD, and a couple other little things to make it a true concours car, but still - very nice!

Great car to buy and a very fair price IMHO!
