Indicator turn signal lights light up when stepping on brakes

I was works on the D in the garage and noticed that both turn signal indicator lights, light up dimmed not full voltage when pressing on brake.
So I assuming that there is a back feed of some kind.
Any one seen this before and if so what was the fix.

As a possible shot in the dark solution to your problem (groan...sorry :) )...

Are you comfortable removing the taillight lens assembly from the rear fascia? I wonder if what you are seeing is the "outside" brake bulb lighting up the turn signal tinted plastic area. Maybe something that was supposed to be in there as a partition is not there anymore? The taillights have five bulbs across each where the "2 and 4" bulbs are brakes, 3 in the middle is the running light that comes on with headlights, the outside 1 or 5 depending on the side is the turn signal and the opposite one on the inside is the reversing light. Having your wires crossed in some fashion that causes the turn signals to come on sounds a bit bizarre if that is what is happening.

If the brake lights are coming on as they should too, it could be one filaments in a double filament bulb has burnt and fell onto the other, but it would be very rare for it to happen on both sides...

Do you have LED turn signal indicators by chance?

Thanks Everyone for your response.

After reading Jonathan and Ron comments I started at the tail lights unplugged the left side light assemble, then tried the brake, only the right signal indicator light. So from there went to the bulk head connectors and removed the black connector. Stepped on brake and no signal indicators showed.
Ahh cleaned the connectors ground pin, plugged all light assembles back in and tested again NO signal indicators showed. FIXED

My best guess it was a ground feed back through the signal indicator bulbs.

One more thing what do you use to clean the contact pins there is no room to sand the pins.

I would get a small and manageable piece of sandpaper and just go back and forth as smoothly but firmly as you can, hitting each pin as you go. It can be tough and take a bit of time, but that is what I have tried to do. I used some dielectric grease on all of the female ends, so when reconnecting everything, the dielectric grease gets all over the connections.
