B280F out of a 1989 Volvo Bertone 780...Good Donor or replacement engine?

Just wondering if there's any value in this engine as a donor or potential engine swap?

Yes, I have the same engine from the same car in my D however I am in the process of rebuilding some things on it. You will need to swap the lower crankcase out, and figure out how you're going to run it as far as the EFI is concerned. If you're thinking of just using the block with the Delorean K-jet, it will not work for you since the B280F is even-fire. Good luck.

Also just for reference, there was one 780 2.8L engine on Ebay - it has been on there for a long time and they were asking over 1k for it, I think it was $1,500. You can get a 780 for $300-$600 with this engine ($600 for it running and in good condition) at least in my area. Unless it has the turbo 4 cylinder, everyone hates the 6cylinder version, I'm guess its being due to everyone still believing they still suffer oil issues and what not...
