cant find the answer. Pulling the engine from a 5 speed tranny

Looking everywhere online and in the workshop manual I cant seem to find the "3 bolts" that you have to remove behind the starter.
I've got every bolt pulled and the engine is separating from the bell housing but will not detach. Am I missing something? There are definitely no bolts behind the starter.
Anyone else run into this?

There are four bolts on a flywhee inspection plate on the bottom of the bell housing, have you removed them?

I've removed every bolt from the bell housing to the engine that is visible. I'm really stumped on this one. I literally spent 6 hours today going over and over it.

These bolts for this are hidden if the engine / trans is still in the car, they are very close to the frame crossmember and a real pain to remove but its gotta come out to split the two.

There are dowl pins/spring pins aligning the bell housing. They could just be really seized up. Remember, to split the two, the first few inches, the engine has to pull straight away from the transmission to get the input shaft out of the pilot bearing and clutch. I remember having to use quite a lot of force to split engines in the past. Usually you can't just pull the bolts and have the two fall apart.

EDIT: also yea, check out the inspection plate bolts. You should remove the inspection plate before trying to remove the engine.

Don't forget to put the alignment pins back in!! Will cause fitment and starter problems. I didn't remember to stick mine in after replacing
the transmission. But I figured out how to put them in without pulling motor or tranny.
