I just bought an A/C decal from DMCH. http://store.delorean.com/p-7787-ac-fascia-decal.aspx

Are they all NOS?? The decal was not sticking easily, I even felt it, was not strong enough. After I peeled it to adjust it, whicch it did peel easily, the black stuff started flaking off.

Even when I lit it up, you can sort of see some light through the black part.

the AC decal on my delorean started to peel off a while ago. i removed it entirely, carefully cleaned the residue, and applied super glue. problem fixed forever.

I believe they used a silk screen process like most graphic overlays I know of. The paint that is reverse printed tends to flake easily on these in my experience so you have to be careful. My previous decal flaked when the corner caught on the console when re-installing it. You gotta line it up the first time and I use a spray adhesive with no problems. I really hope they decide to re-print these (the earlier style is preferred by most). I was actually working on a decal "re-fresher" for one of the earlier styles so looks like new again. Have not tried it out yet but they are ready to print.

You cannot peel it off to adjust it. You get one shot at installing it. The paint will peel off the sticker if it's lifted.

I installed their "new" (NOS) sticker after I cleaned all the old goo off the clear face plate. I also wet sanded the face plate just to be sure it was super clean. I used a dowel rod wrapped with masking tape in the round switch holes so it would be aligned as I installed the sticker.

You have to be careful removing or installing the faceplate that any of the edges don't get pulled. Just pull the center console sides a little while carefully removing the faceplate.

i would definitely like a better quality one for my A/C.
Mine is fully of light leaks through the black.

You are lucky if you can get any of the stickers off in one piece, if at all. I bought a full early set a few years back and 1/4 of them were permanently attached to the sheet... Fortunately I was able to use a blow dryer to get the few tough ones I needed off. (...Super Glue ;-)
Maybe they have a new batch now..
