Dmcjohn, Thanks for doing that for us and Dangermouse, awesome you provided this info! I think it's a major event and too bad too soon - as I/ we would of liked to attended and provided support. It's a perfect time for the public and organizations witness a true work of machinery and extraordinary development by John Z DeLorean. It's history and we're all part of it! We look forward to pics and videos. BECAUSE, THIS CAR MATTERS! :-) Thank you in advance!

Hi David, sorry I missed you, would have been great to meet up for a coffee at it! I was there yesterday but can't make it today as we're driving back to NJ.

I got tons of photos and video, of both the tin goose Tucker and the gold DMC (recorded the speeches on each car) - will upload them later this evening or tomorrow.

It's okay John! Seems like you enjoyed seeing her too!

Jay Hubbard, the Curator at the show today was ver informative! I've wanted to see this Delorean since I was 13! I never thought I'd have an opportunity to see her!

Here are some pictures of the car I took today, to include a couple of me attempting to look cool:

What a great car!!!
Must be superb to see that one for real.
Where is this car going to afterwards? I hope it remains in the area so I can go see it next time I'll be in DC

Love the last one John. Very cute.

Out of curiosity, had you heard about this event before this thread? Didn't seem to be very well publicized.

Does embedding videos not work on dmctalk anymore? Tried embedding it earlier but it didn't work.

And it's a Nevada car.. Where do they usually keep this car in Nevada and is it on display there usually? I'm in Northern Virginia for a few months until I finish mechanics training, then I'm going back to Vegas and would love to see it. Hell, wish I knew of a DeLorean owner in the Staunton, VA area, I'd still love to see my first up close DeLorean. :(

Anyway, cool pics, would have loved to have gone but I just now read the thread and I'm sad I missed it.

I believe it's in a museum in Reno.

I'll have to make it a motorcycle trip that I can justify by playing Ingress along the entire route.

I believe it's in a museum in Reno.

That would be correct. This car is apart of the Harrah's collection. According to them, it was donated after the owner could no longer afford the insurance on it to drive it on the street ($25,000 in 1980's dollars to fix a dent, but no word if that was the deductible or total cost). It's also the only Gold AmEx car with a Saddle Interior AND a 5-speed. And for some reason the original paperwork from the DMV doesn't list it as a "DMC-12" It's an "LK".

Back in the 80's or 90's, it has made it's way down to Vegas when it's been loaned to the Imperial Palace's car collection, but not often. This is one of two cars that I've really lusted after and would buy if I had the absolute means to. The other is that DMC-12 down in Laughlin with the unusual "half & half" paint job.

I do not like the combination with the grey headliner quite honestly. The other gold Delorean has a dark headliner which is better.
A matching tan headliner would have been perfect.

Was this grey headliner put on originally?
