Need someone to appraise a DeLorean in San Diego

I posted this under general talk but figured it would get more traction here- so maybe the mods can delete my other post.

Anyway, Does anyone know of a good professional appraiser who knows DeLoreans in San Diego?

I'm looking at a couple but the bank needs an appraisal on any classic cars.



Can Danny up at DMC Ca do this based off a bunch of photos, or any of the other DMC shops?

Generally not without actually seeing the car, unless it's an about-to-be-former customer car with a known maintenance history.

It's too hard to see a blown non-running engine or transmission in photographs, for example, and too easy to shoot around significant ($) interior or stainless flaws, for example.

I had planned on taking the pics of everything imsginable. The engine though is a non-smogged running Corvette 350c from the late 70's. The interior is passable but needs to be done, such as worn seat covers and worn carpet, loose center console switches that do work, brake lights don't work but blinkers do, headliner is dirty, clutch feels loose, the frame has been modified with welded on brackets for the engine, but looks good otherwise. Car is at the European spec height, the engine cover is gone due to the carb being in the way, so a u- bolt was put in where the cover latch is so the louvers can catch, there's 8 little squares of metal glued on on either side of the rear license plate, and a "designed by Guigero of Lotus" on each door below the handles, because supposedly this was a show car. Also, it can't be registered in California due to no smog equipment. And the AC isn't hooked up since there's no pump on the engine. All this for $13k. It drives and runs fine, and is kind of a kick with the sound and pickup.
The question is, is it really worth that?

Also, it's an 81 with gas flap hood, has new gas struts for the doors and bonnet thought the left door sags a little, and the luggage area under the bonnet has been cut up,front to accommodate a larger radiator.
