OK, the ball is in Bob's court now.
$150 conveyed to Adam (mailed USPS money order is best - keep the receipt) to put this thing to bed forever.
Accept it, do it, and be done with it - that's smart business.
Let's see what Bob does....

What a trainwreck.
If I had just dropped over $50K for a DeLorean time machine replica I would not be worried recouping about .3% of the total cost. Let alone worry about parts I'm missing after I had spent a weekend with the builder and the car in progress.
When extreme hobbies and personalities collide I suppose. I am glad it all worked out.

As much as I hate to admit it due to all the other nonsense this guy pulls, I do think Adam is just being a bit petty now, making up exaggerated costs. Truth is, I'd never supply a Delorean for one of these conversions for this reason, I'd just ask the builder to source me a good one.
At the same time, the reason he gave him a 'deal', was because he thought he could get away with keeping all this 'junk' and selling it on to make up for the better deal he gave him..

Guys, I'm dealing with this outside of the board and it involves much more than what you've read. The reason I 'accepted' the $150 nightflyer offered is because I find it humorous that he makes judgments. To my own detriment I have kept quiet about the modification issues as it has nothing to do with this 'parts' issue, but I decided it was best to focus on one issue at a time. In fact once I finally got the paperwork with my car, I went over it with the seller and found that parts INSTALLED on the car that had nothing to do with the modification were taken. <blink>. It never occurred to either of us that we needed to provide a list of parts INSTALLED on the car.
The truth is we've all kind of stumbled onto a business practice that is a huge issue. I'm trying to find the best way to deal with that and keep others from having the same thing happen to them. Clearly supplying the shop with a list of the items beforehand is futile. It seems you need to strip your own car in order to be safe. However speaking with the other builders this whole scenario is embarrassing to them and in all honesty any shop. This is above and beyond what a customer should expect when dealing with modifications.
But again, all of this is being dealt with privately now and I'm certainly not holding out for judgments from board members. Only one person on this board knows the whole story (other than Bob) and I've asked him to let this all pass over before he jumps in. The only reason I even came back on here was because I was asked to once I received the parts. Unfortunately the situation isn't completely over but it will be resolved as soon as possible.

I meant no disrespect to either party. I read the entire thread, and while detailed, I'm sure it does not portray the whole story.
Again, I'm glad to see a positive resolution. At the very least this will streamline the next sale process. Couldn't hurt to add a little more transparency in what comes off the car and how that relates to the final price. Even if this is already built into the price, an old parts re-sale breakdown could be marketed as a thoughtful 'discount' with the price tag.

OK, so if your reasons for posting here aren't a part of some attempt to force Bob to resolve your own issues (which you had previously claimed, wherein you repeatedly stated that you'd like 'the community to hold him accountable') but is now to warn others of shady business practices, as you've asserted here, then don't you think you should elaborate a little on the two issues that you've now identified (emboldened above)?
Otherwise, what's the point?
If you're dissatisfied with the services you received, or believe that parts unrelated to the conversion process were stolen off your car by this conversion provider, then post a detailed review (and NOT a demand manifesto as you did before) of your experiences, so that others in the community or who are looking to become a part of the community can learn from your unfortunate experiences - that's what this whole thing is supposed to be about, the sharing of knowledge and personal experiences.
This tease BS just leaves people confused and in the dark. Remember, you're the one who came here and started this thing. So are you going to give us an honest review of the big picture, or were you just using the community/forum as a means to achieve your own ends with Bob when you thought it was a viable tool to use in doing so?
BTW - The forum has a section for Vendor/Service Provider reviews.

I know it's confusing trying to understand what happened when you don't know what went into it. For example that I had to buy the car on my own and ship it or that to even start the process I had to put half down ($15,000) meaning once things went south there was no course of action but to make the most of it, which I still feel I did.
And to nightflyer, this board along with the Better Business Bureau and the Duncanville Police Department were absolutely used to get my parts back. I have also spoken with two attorneys and a judge and filled out small claims court papers. It was the responsible thing to do in order to get my property back. Now that I have gotten the majority of my property back what remains is what was admittedly thrown out. In my mind there was nothing more for the board to discuss I was simply letting everyone know where we stood. I have been dealing with the remainder of the parts issue in private with five or six different people. As for the other issues, when the parts issue is completely resolved I will let this board know how I will deal with that. This situation was so big I had to deal with each thing as it came. It is not my intention to tease anyone, or bullshit anyone. Just following my attorneys advice on how best to proceed. So far so good.

Adam,
are you now accusing me of actually taking parts off the car for the purpose of keeping them?
The only parts taken off the car were the parts removed for the conversion process.
These include the rear louvers, 3-back glass pieces, rear view mirror, battery cover, storage cover, engine cover grills, etc.
That's pretty much it.
Your stereo was removed and reinstalled, re-wired. (no charge).
Your front storage compartment was damaged from a previous wreck, we repaired the fiberglass, made new access covers and repainted the entire thing.
(also for no charge).
Then we did the same to the rear pontoons, (at no charge).
I also recall working on the wiring to your botched fan relays, replaced the fuses and some of the relays and had to rewire a lot of that stuff (at no charge).
Any Delorean related issues you had with your car was not our responsibility but we did our best to make sure it was presentable and running properly
however we did not drive the car as we did not have proper insurance or tags for it.
As far as your box of parts goes, every car we get usually has a bunch of junk in it.
If a customer sends us their car we instruct them to clean it out first.
If I buy a car myself, I usually clean it out before we do the conversion and that stuff goes on "the pile" upstairs.
Again, had you checked into your "parts" while at my shop this would have been immediately resolved.
Or again, had you simply called me to talk about the parts we could have also easily resolved things, privately.
Instead, you carefully planned out your attack on me, building your pages of blog, videos and lists together,
premeditated before contacting me and then basically threatened me with all this material to extort from me what you wanted.
This showed willful intent to cause me harm for the purpose of trying to co-hearse me into doing what you wanted for yourself.
A simple phone call could have resolved all of it in 5 minutes.
To this day you still refuse to simply talk to me.
The problem is that you go way over board about every little thing, this was the issue with the entire build
You were constantly throwing a tantrum of text messages about every little thing, the color and placement of clamps and zip ties, etc.
You would average 20-100 text messages to me per day (this is easy to prove).
Then you made up videos weekly such as "Stressing the mod", remember?
You would tell me you were up all night "shitting blood" because you are so worried about all the money you borrowed from your
mother in law for this car and you need it as soon as possible so you can try to make your money back... I would assure you for hours on end
until 5am that "everything would be fine"...
After receiving the car you called to complain that some of the yellow gel material on the Time Circuits was "warped" and that after messing with it
another green gel had come loose.
I told you this was easily fixed and that if you couldn't do it yourself you could send them to me and I would either fix or replace them.
You told me that was ridiculous, etc... I referred you to my engineer who makes them, but you insulted him and now he refuses
to help you with them.
Then you complained that a few of the rubber brackets had broken.
Again, I offered to replace them for you and explained how to do it, but you refused to deal with it.
These cars are not indestructible, they are works of art and custom made.
Out of the 16 cars I have built, only a few times have we needed to make a small repair for the customer, usually it is their fault but regardless
we take care of it. I offered you many times to help you with this, you don't want help, you want to complain.
The real issue here Adam, if you will forgive me, is that you are just impossible to please.
Long before we got to this horrible place here online, I DID try to please you, I DID offer solutions, I tried my damndest to help you,
but nothing and I do mean, NOTHING ever satisfies you, ever.
Even after sending you the 2 giant boxes of parts you started up the same arguments and war again.
Every single time the answer is always the same Adam, call me, talk to me, deal with me and I will take care of it.
Going online and slandering me and filing all these bogus reports will do nothing more than infuriate me.
Out of selling 16 Time Machines, 4 Bluesmobiles, 2 Knight Riders and an Ectomobile and many other custom cars
with over $1,000,000 in sales over the last few years, you have been the single worst experience I have ever had with any customer, ever!!!
Yes, I totally agree that I handled this situation incorrectly and learned some things from it, but that does not absolve you for acting the way you have as someone who expects the world of others and just slanders and liable straight up LIES about people for the purpose of harming them to extort money and parts from them.
So to review...
I saved you $10,000 off your Time Machine Conversion.
I saved you 7 months of build time from your conversion.
I saved you $1000+ off the cost of your Delorean, negotiating the sale for you.
I did about $1000+ in free labor on your car we were not obligated to do.
My team did more detailed work on your car than we ever did on any other conversion, making yours our best work yet.
I taxi'd you around and put you up for half a week at my house and fed you, to save you car and hotel fees.
I gave you $250 in free props that you wanted.
I set you up with some of my BTTF connections for your charity golf games, giving you my personal endorsement with them.
I did an amazing photo session of your car that you are using on your website and printed materials.
..the list goes on.
I am asking you, please, can we be happy with what we have and put this to bed already?
I have done all I can to resolve this and I feel we are even.
Can you please take down your slanderous blog and videos and stop coming on here to keep this going
and move on with our lives already?

Adam wasn't completely satisfied with the returned parts, wanting compensation for the parts you admittedly tossed.
While I agreed with you as to their trivial/worthless nature, and the fact that some of them very well may not have ever existed in the first place (for whatever reason), Adam still feels that he's entitled to $569.86 for them.
You valued the remainder of the disputed parts at $100 in a previous post. I fully agreed with you. But as it was a number that you provided, I didn't believe that Adam would go for it, thus I upped it to $150, just so that he'd feel as if he won. Consider it the cost of doing business.
It's in your best interest to at least put this issue to bed. For $150, you at least get the issue about the extra/spare parts resolved for all time. Adam already fully agreed to the $150 settlement here.
Agree to the $150 and send a postal money order to him in the mail. That's smart business. In the memo part of the money order, write the following: In full and complete satisfaction of the issue pertaining to the spare/extra parts.
If he wants to renege on his acceptance here and not accept/cash the money order, well that's something that he'll have to decide, but at least you'll have attempted to do the right thing and effectively placed the ball in his court.
So do it already - it's a lousy $150. You should have enclosed this together with the spare/extra parts that you sent him, as I previously stated, as had you done this, we may not have still been dealing with that issue any longer.
As to Adam's new assertions of you stealing installed/factory parts off his car that had nothing to do with the conversion and about the quality and assembly of the materials you used in his conversion, he only teased the board about that thus far - allegedly under orders from his attorney not to discuss those issues until the issue with the spare/extra parts has been put to bed - even though there's really no logical or even legal reason for withholding the airing of any legitimate grievances.
You guys...
Adam already fully agreed to the $150 settlement here.
No, he didn't. He was being sarcastic towards the idea of you pretending to be a mediator here.

Jesus Christ - there's so many actual fallacies I don't even know where to start.
-There is no picture on my site you had anything to do with. Stop saying the same lie over and over.
-There is no printed material with any picture you ever took. Stop saying the same lie over and over.
-You set-up absolutely none of my BTTF connections. None. I live 5 minutes from Claudia and met her before we even spoke and Don came from her.
-You negotiated nothing for my Delorean and in fact you made me spend $1k more on seats that were unnecessary.
-I paid you $300 for a hoverboard and you threw in the $5 almanac and a clock (that I had to take apart and reface).
Does any of this even register? I've already expressed that these are untrue... yet you repeat them like they are true - SO WHY RESPOND?
You do realize what your incessant lies are going to lead to, right? I'm going to finally tell everyone what happened during the modification. For crying out loud Bob, you could've thrown in a couple parts to make up for what you admitted you threw out and you choose this? Seriously? You admit to your employees taking my property, hiding it in your storage and you telling me it was TRASHED - and then fight with me for a MONTH about sending it to me?! And then you text me that I'm hurting your business? No, Bob, you are hurting your business. I'm telling what actually happened. I'm letting people hear your ranting voicemails at 1 in the morning. That's YOU recording those things. I'm letting people read the absolutely delusional emails you send me about how you'll destroy my relationships with BTTF cast members like Don (while I'm in a fucking business meeting with him no less). You are doing all of this and you're doing it over and over and over. Just as you've done it over and over and over to other people for the past 10 years. People who have come out of the shadows the past month begging me to post the truth. People who have DEFRIENDED ME simply for TAKING my stuff because they wanted me to refuse it and take you to court! THAT is the level of hate you have brought upon yourself.
I got as much of my property as I'm going to get and my participation in this thread is over. I have to finalize some business with some cast and crew members in a week or so and once I announce that (not here) then I will finally deal with this 3-month insanity with Bob and how best to deal with it going forward. But my interaction with Bob ends now. I accept the wraith that he will now bestow upon me, the threats he will now make and the events he will now harass me at with a video camera since he has texted that he hates me more than "Gary" or "Bruce". And why? Because I held a mirror up to his shady business practices and expected my property back.
On June 16th I asked you to handle this privately and on June 17th, after you berated me and threatened me with mechanical liens (really?!?!?) I wrote you this:
To reiterate, I do NOT wish to make this public but I have run out of options and you continue to berate me. If you wish to resolve this, please provide me with a list of items that you are shipping back to me with a tracking number and the amount you are paying me for items you threw away. However if you again respond by arguing, chastising me, playing the victim, threatening mechanical liens or exclusion from BTTF events, I will have no choice but to follow through with what is detailed in the above locked entry.
The ball is entirely in your court. Please, I'm begging you to handle this responsibly.
You are the one that made this public with your bullying and abuse. Stop blaming the people you punch in the face for showing their black eyes, and maybe, just maybe, stop PUNCHING.
And to the board, there is absolutely nothing more for me to add. As I described in my previous post, in an effort to get my parts back I used this board (1), the Better Business Bureau (2) and the Duncanville Police Department (3). I've requested the police drop the case (#14002922), unfortunately Bob never took the BBB serious and the time passed for me to remove the complaint and I am no longer going to comment on this board as it pertains to the "parts" issue. I am not satisfied with his handling of it but I'm also not satisfied with the current Lakers squad, and I'll live. The board now becomes my go-to for the tune-up and other fixes I can now do to my car. A massive thank-you to the original seller who took such incredibly detailed care of this car (the stack of paperwork I got is exhaustive) and I know more about the history of my baby than I could've imagined. I am so incredibly sorry that I believed Bob when he said you sent a bunch of trash and they threw it out. He told me the car's windows didn't work (they did), he told me the wipers didn't work (they did), he told me it was in a wreck (it wasn't) and he told me everything was trashed (seeing the box of items I finally received it was a revelation as the parts were pristine - including the screen that Bob said was scratched and not working! Flawless and worked, imagine that). I'm finally excited about being a Delorean owner. And to have so many "in the plastic" parts directly from Delorean.com is awesome. I have never seen anyone as meticulous as this seller (Greg Zapf) and it means the world to a new Delorean owner to have this much material. So glad Bob's employees recognized it was extremely valuable and put it in storage for me until I requested it. One employee even took some items home for safe keeping!

I'm going to finally tell everyone what happened during the modification.
So, what's stopping you???
Just more teasing... the point of which is...???
If you're really concerned about wanting to warn people about shady business practices, as you again claim to be, then give the board the complete details.
By doing all this tease BS, you're just confusing people and leaving them with unanswered questions - not cool.
Post a review and put it all out there - let the members/lurkers decide for themselves.

No, he didn't. He was being sarcastic towards the idea of you pretending to be a mediator here.
Adam stated (repeatedly) that he wanted the community to 'hold Bob accountable.' Do I honestly need to go through and point out every single post in which he made such a request/demand?
Last I checked, I'm a member of the community, but I'm not a brain dead zombie that just follows orders either. If I'm asked to do something, I need to assess the situation and make a judgment before taking a position, which is exactly what Adam requested - that we take a position.
While you may prefer to act blindly upon others' orders/requests, I do not, thank you very much.
Thus I did what was necessary (requested evidence, examined/analyzed it, and came to an objective/impartial/unbiased conclusion) for me to be able to take a position in this matter and hold those involved in it accountable - exactly as Adam asked for.
In fact, no one has contributed more to Adam's initial request than I have, despite him and you making me feel like Rodney Dangerfield for doing so (no respect).
If he never wanted such interaction from the forum, then he probably shouldn't have requested it - just saying....
Thus, if he was being sarcastic towards my posts, as per your assertion, then it shows two things: 1) That he isn't a very reasonable person, and 2) that he thinks that the members of this forum (yourself included) are a bunch of idiots that would just blindly jump on his side because he demanded/requested it.
Based on your assertion, if true, then it obviously means that you think that Adam thinks of you as nothing more than a useful idiot, and that you have no problem with him using you to accomplish his desired ends. Very interesting. Personally, I have more respect for myself than that, but I completely understand it if you do not - some people are in to that kind of submissive thing, and I'm an to each their own kind of guy, so that's completely cool with me even though it's not my thing.
Cheers!

I've requested the police drop the case (#14002922)
OK, so you changed your mind about pursuing anything further on the issue of the spare/extra parts.
But what about all of the other allegations that you teased at:
- Bob stole installed/factory parts that were not part of the conversion process off your car;
- the materials/assembly used in the conversion process are of poor quality;
- this 'thing' that happened during the conversion process, that's some kind of big secret (for some reason)
Are these all legit or not?
If you're just going to leave the forum without explaining the basis for these allegations, then it makes it appear as if you're just using the forum/community to snipe at Bob because of personal issues that you happen to have with him.
So, what's the deal here?
Based on your assertion, if true, then it obviously means that you think that Adam thinks of you as nothing more than a useful idiot, and that you have no problem with him using you to accomplish his desired ends. Very interesting. Personally, I have more respect for myself than that, but I completely understand it if you do not - some people are in to that kind of submissive thing, and I'm an to each their own kind of guy, so that's completely cool with me even though it's not my thing.

Either that, or it's just a bit of extra drama for the blog perhaps?

OK then - please explain to us why they chose this forum to hash out this dispute and request/demand that we take a position and hold the offending party(ies) accountable if they didn't really mean it. I'm trying to understand why you feel that my interaction in this thread is unwarranted, as it's exactly what was requested from these two by the community.
If my interaction is incorrect, then please oh great one, enlighten us all as to exactly what an appropriate response should be, as I'm all ears (or eyes, such as it is)....

We're clearly on your side here, so being snotty with people ain't helping. I don't even have to know the details like this other guy, I know EXACTLY the stuff that nob does as he's done it to a friend of mine who also owns a time machine (build in progress). I did my research when I got one and wouldn't ever use him for a part, never mind a full conversion.
I think given the circumstances you've been lucky here (hard to believe). He can have a reality show all he wants, but when the sensible people do their research, the only 'reality' is that he's hated in almost every prop community for well documented reasons, and it will never change. Usually the ones who promote well (the one and only thing he gets right) and get on tele, are the ones to avoid.

Yeah this whole thing is just for attention. That's the M.O.

OK dok, we're about done here.
The OP says he's done with talking about it here. This thread needs to end, and it does here.
