So as some of you may know I did a frame off on my car. Something I have noticed after everything was put back together is it sits several cms higher than stock. It looks quite silly. Im using the original springs that were always on the car. I did make the mistake of torquing the suspension bolts when the frame was a rolling chassis before I put the body back on. However, afterwards I loosened all the bolts, let the car sit for a while (rolled it back and forth a bit) and retorqued the bolts. But still it sits very high. I want to get an alignment done but the toe on the rear is not even close due to this extra height, not to mention it looks very silly. I was thinking of retorquing the bolts after tieing the car down to my trailer. I know its a bit redneck but its the only thing I can think of. Let me know if you guys have any input, it would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

Put a good amount of weight in the front end and torque it that way.

the rear end is equally as bad though. But that would work for the front!

Also would it be possible for me to get any center of the wheel to fender arch measurements from someone on stock suspension just to give me something to ballpark?

Put a jack under the end of the arm and jack it up until right before it starts to lift the car - then torque up the bolt. Here's a photo of what I did to demonstrate (buffered by a block of wood and carpet):

Thinking back over it, I reckon I actually jacked it until it DID ever so slightly lift the car - not before.

I also used the exact same technique at the front, jacking the lower control arm until the same moment.

At that point, as with any time you lift the car, it then just needs a quick drive to self-settle that last little bit.
