My Delorean does not have the front end recall kit on it. Is there only one made for it? Delorean Motor Company has the kit for sale ( see Link ), just wondering if this is the one that everyone is using or is there another one out there? Thanks.

DPI has got you covered as well:

I don't have it (I have the NOS setup the DMCH sells), but I'm sure it's a good kit.

Is one better than the other?

The original is painted steel.

Looks like Josh at DPI has gone all out with stainless and includes an added grease nipple where the sway bar attaches. Very thoughtful upgrade.

His sway bar bracket doesn't look as beefy as the NOS one, but that's going by the picture. I'm sure it's strong enough though. And the SS plates are really nice and should hold up well. If I was shopping for this kit now, I would probably go DPI. Nice upgrades at a slightly lower price would be hard to pass up!

My car also does not have this recall fix. Is there drilling involved?

Yes, but not to the frame. You install new castellated nuts on the ball joints. Once installed, you drill through the ball joint bolt so there is a small hole for the carter pin. For awhile the DMCH reproduction lower ball joints already had a hole predrilled, but I'm not sure about the current ones out there. Upper ball joints for sure have to be drilled if they still have the stock nuts.
