How does everyone else's lighter look when lit? I bought a new one with the American well size and am looking for a way to maybe get it to illuminate more evenly. I plan on installing an led. 2777527776

As over the top as I am with illumination, especially with LEDs, the lighter has never bothered me that much. In fact I like it understated and not in my face. If you want it bright, then yes an LED would be the easiest replacement especially since there are so many made for socket applications. Probably a green color would be best.

I fixed mine with a ring of 6 LEDs. Don't think there is enough market to bring that change into production.

I had zero luck replacing the bulb with a single LED. Because of the directional nature of the LED and the fact that it fires straight into a black piece of plastic, there was absolutely zero illumination provided with the LED installed. It's one of only three non-headlight bulbs on my car I left as an incandescent as a result.
