Not really Delorean related, but on a side note, I just recently got another car. A 1975 Vanguard Citicar. It is a street legal, all-electric, essentially glorified golf-cart that I'm sure will turn heads once I get it on the road. It looked like a good deal and was very geographically close so I thought I'd bite. Often referred to as a 'cheese wedge' due to the shape. I have been thinking of ideas for a license plate, since its electric, and due to the nickname, and due to my favorite of my cars, my current favorite ideas for a plate are:

121 GWTS
TME WDGE
RD CHZWG

I am leaning toward TME WDGE since all of my other vehicles have TIME in the plate in some fashion. What do you all think?

If often referred to as a "cheese wedge" why not "CHZ WDGE" ?

Or if you prefer "time wedge" I always thought "TYM" was easier to understand than "TME" when referring to "time"

So maybe "TYM WDGE" ?

.
Keep in mind that "WDGE" also kinda looks like "Wedgie" as in getting your undershorts pulled up your buttcrack.

Maybe "WEDG" instead?

TYM WEDG
CHZ WEDG

I would hate to think what a Cheese Wedgie would involve...

Even more importantly, what color is it? If it's yellow then it really would look like a big wedge of cheese driving around...

Very cool! Any plans to upgrade the battery packs to something other then lead acid? Other changes or just keeping it as original as possible?

Someone on the today site bought one of those too! Actually I think it might have have been Josh or maybe Silkie. There is a thread on Today about it.

I will tell you the same thing I told him. Paint it like this.

This should probably be moved to 'sliding doors electrical vehicle, other than trains"

Ha I am a fan of electrical cars what ever the shape. Especially of the Renault Twizy! (http://betterparts.org/renault/renault-weitere-modelle/renault-twizy.html)!!! It also being a PRV family and a gull wing like door.

But I doubt I would buy one if I lived in the US.

Many LOLs :)

I paid less for it than I did for my couch :)
then again, I also paid less for my truck than I did for the couch... But the wife loves the couch, and I think it's very comfy so good investment I spose :)
It's color is red, which is why I prefer the plate RD CHZWG or something like that, but everyone I test the idea on keeps saying they think that's 'Red Cheesewagon' not 'Red Cheese Wedge'. They did make yellow ones which is where the nickname is largely from, but everyone always refers to the others as Red Cheesewedge, Orange Cheesewedge, etc. They also made them in blue, which is why I love the nickname Blue Cheesewedge for the blue ones, works on two levels :)

The current plan is to restore and keep as original as possible. I haven't yet gotten deep into the wiring to see how much of a can of worms I am in for :/
The good thing is that the car is so simple and barebones it shouldn't be terrible, feeling hopeful!

Attached is one of the pics that was used in the listing, I have the original hubcaps, and I have windows that were made for it but I need to remake them

That looks like a fun little ride. Red is a great color too.

For the plate I think RD CHZWG looks close enough to Red Cheesewedge. Part of the fun of a personalize plate is that it's a little obscure an not everyone is going to get it

Otherwise you could try:

RD CZWDG
RD WEDGE
RED WEDG
RED WDGE (Red Wedgie, Ouch!)

Yes!
Every time I would see a Citicar for sale or on a show it would remind me of the JohnnyCab. Ppl say the actual JohnnyCab was just a custom one-off for the movie, but the more I think about it, they may have used a Commutavan - descendant of the Citicar as a base vehicle at the least.

I'm going to have to invite myself up to see all your cars soon, I'm down in the Staunton, VA area, so I'm about 2 hours away. :rollin:
