Delay module

Anyone else have this issue with your interior delay module? Mine is a new unit from MW. If I only have the door open for a few seconds, it works perfectly. If open for longer, the lamps shut off as if there is no delay. When I bought the car years ago, it didn't have one in it so I bought a new one.
