Coolant Bottle Cap Parts-store replacement?

I appear to have lost the cap to my stainless coolant bottle (came from Hervey). Is this something I can find easily at a parts store? Or am I stuck here until I can get a direct replacement sent out?

Its a 15 lb radiator cap. !5 isn't the most common I think, make a couple calls. The cross reference list says its an RC15.

Any 16 lbs cap will work fine. It's a standard old fashioned style radiator cap.

How far/long can you drive without the cap?

As far/long as the coolant doesn't boil. All the pressure does is raise the boiling point. I don't know how efficient a DeLorean cooling system is, but you can drive an older model F-150 without a radiator cap.

Before WW II, most vehicle cooling systems weren't pressurized.

I wasn't able to track down a 15 or 16lb cap... The best I could find in the limited time I had was a 13lb. It should be good enough to get me the 120 miles back to PA for the next few days when I'll have more time to track down the right one.

I'm not sure how precisely accurate radiator caps are even when new. With age, they likely are all over the map.

Have a bottle of antifreeze in the front boot just in case something odd comes up. If you want the 15 a decent radiator shop will have it or can get it overnight.

If you go to any auto parts store ask for an "ACRC15" radiator cap. they will cross that over to the more common 16psi cap wich will fit your tank perfectly and work just fine. I have been running one since the end of the winter.

I have a Be Cool Radiator cap. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BCI-71006/ I want to use this on my D when I finish on it. It writes 13 psi, would there be any problems using it??

A 13lb cap was the closest I could find in the very limited time I had on Saturday to track down a replacement cap, and it seemed to do just fine on the 150 mile drive yesterday evening on the highway and the 15 mile drive this morning in stop-and-go traffic. I'm going to hunt up a 15lb cap before the 650 mile drive home on Wednesday, but I'll keep the 13lb one as a spare...
