RHS water pump hose

Hi Guys, My RHS water pump hose has me a little concerned before the drive to DCS. It appears to be bulged or enlarged just as it is attached to the water pump. At first I thought it was failing and in need of replacement, but upon further inspection, I wonder if it is supposed to be that way. It looks as if it increases to a bigger diameter before it slips onto the water pump. Can anyone confirm if that is correct or if my hose is bulging and starting to fail? The part I am referring to is in the diagram below.
