Repro dash discoloring..

I have a repro dash from houston which has been in my car for a few years..It is completly a different color than my nos glove box lid.. I have noticed it is discolored.. i took the glove box lid off and it is a much closer shade of gray around the lip then on top of the dash.. anyone else notice this>? i am most likely just going to dye it with the acura charcoal color as that looks almost identical to the nos glove box lid.
