Greetings fellow DeLorean owners,
I just want to introduce myself to the DeLoeran community as a new DeLorean owner. I want to say new owner, but I have been a owner for a year now. I bought the car in Freemont, MI for an incredible deal of $8,500.00. The frame's condition is why the car was so cheep. The seller was the 2nd owner of the car. He was a car collector and just didn't want to keep it. He knew it would take a ton of work to repair the frame. I am a welder by trade, so the frame work was not hard for me. The body and interior was in excellent condition. I started the dissasembly in Jan, and got the frame restored and back together and driving by mid July. I did have to make myself a new front crumple section for the frame. It turned out to work perfectly. I was so nervous in cutting off the old one and making sure that the new one fits exactly in the same place of orientation as the old one did.
I am new to this DMCtalk and will post as many more pics as soon as I can.
