i got my dad locked up sitting in the drivers seat, and i couldn't get the door unlocked. We tried the door locks when the door was only halfway closed, bad action. After popping the upper door card he was quickly released.

Had ourselves a little club get together around the pool and BBQ. 10 cars I think in total. Perfect weather as well and no snow shovels needed to be involved. :)

Cracked 4916's callipers. It literally looks like they were packed with mud. At least 2 pistons were seized.

Not today, but after spending Saturday fixing my leaky drive-axles I took the car out to run her up to temperature... and had a perfect chance to test out my new microphone.

For the first time since DCS I drove the car. I had to go to the dentist and figured I may as well have some pleasure out of the trip. The car started right up and had no problems. It reinforced one thing. I bought a DMC Houston A/C vent plug for the passenger side at DCS. When I first put it on at DCS I could feel a little air leaking around it. I then put a rolled up pair of socks behind it and put the plug back in. I didn't notice much difference, I left at 0400 and it was so cool driving home I didn't use the air much. Through Georgia it was cloudy and I didn't hit Florida till evening. That's a long story to say I haven't used the air much. Today was a 98 degree and Humid Day. The AC was a lot better I actually turned it down a notch. If you are not happy with your AC, plug the passenger vent. It made a world of difference in mine. I like to flow on my side of the car.
If you don't mind the rolled up pair of socks showing when you open the door don't worry about it. However if you want a nice clean look http://store.delorean.com/p-10432-ac...lugs-pair.aspx
Performed my weekly drain and refill of the trans fluid. Installed the new DPNW front bat'leth brace. It is actually a very noticeable improvement for running in bumpy turns.
I decided I might as well replace my air filter housing with the new one I got at DCS. I pulled the housing off as one piece, and was glad that I did as you can see in the photos. I'm hoping some performance improvement will be felt!

There should be a "oh my god what have you done to your delorean!" thread...
Installed DMCMW's updated steering wheel with adapter, Dave's fan-fail relay, and convex mirrors from Deloreana.com. More parts coming in today from DMCH.
Thanks! It's a Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition, with a cheap but effective external microphone I got from amazon. I mounted it off the license plate bezel and had it sitting on the fascia between the tailpipes, so it was relatively buffered from the wind and could capture a decent sound without going super expensive.
Replaced all the door marker lights with LED's, put the binnacle back in with all new LED's, and fired her up. My fantastic cold start problem is back, so it looks like I have more testing to do.
I stripped, sanded, and primed my sway bar brackets. I'm glad I saved the old brake fluid, as it is great to strip the paint off these small parts. One week in a jar and the paint falls right off. Might as well use the negative properties of the fluid to my advantage. Next is 2-3 coats of the satin black top coat, and then on to the sway bar.
They are $299 + Shipping. I never did find a link from their site, but Misty sent me this to order it from:

I have no clue. I got the car about 6 weeks ago. I think some little creature was trying to make a home. I drove it like 1,500 miles going to DCS and never noticed anything weird.
I had something like that in my DD air filter airbox. And about 10% of the underhood noise insulation was missing. :sad30:
Is yours maybe seat foam?
Cleaned my Deloreans home

Reinstalled my binnacle with all new LED's, pulled vacuum on the AC system and held it for 12 hours...woop! Time to charge it up!
I bought mine today... well, technically it was yesterday but I didn't have access to the forum yesterday. Proud owner of VIN11056.
No, Jonathan, it was in Virginia. Bought it and after a good inspection of everything, decided she was fit to drive back. Roadtipping her back yesterday and today. Should be home tonight depending on the border. She drove 600miles like a champ. Iam not used to not having power steering though. Fuel sender does not work but we measured consumption and miles and calculated to be getting 25mpg on our trip.
Right on. Just saw your ODOC FB message. Sorry, didn't realize who was who (usernames!). Congrats again and welcome aboard. Fuel senders are pretty easy to troubleshoot most of the time. When you get it home and have a chance to go over it more closely, you'll have lots of people ready to help you sort out the last remaining issues. Enjoy your drive home!
Cleaned totally oxydated connectors on relay 102, which because of this car was unable to start.
This resulted in Low voltage on coil (1V) and sometimes cold and hot hard starting.
Lot of troubleshouting for such a litle zero cents fix........:8ball:
Got looking into my brake reservoir area for figuring out an intermittent brake warning light problem and noticed something else.
What appears to be a coolant line from the connection at the top of the radiator on the drivers side going back towards the rear of the car on the passenger side is pretty much just lying there on top of the frame, steering rack area/boots, and backside of the cooling fans. Was it meant to be routed somewhere a little more secured? It's not like that's an area that sees a lot of action or movement, but I was surprised to see how close the edge of the hose is to the back edge of the cooling fan motor on the drivers side. It wouldn't go anywhere so long as both ends are connected, but could be pretty exciting if one end did let go.

Pulled in to drop my wife off at work and suddenly, SPLOOSH! A huge BTTF-worthy cloud of vapor erupted behind us. I immediately shut off the engine and with the help of a bystander we pushed the car into a parking space. The short coolant hose adjacent to the otterstat pipe had developed a hole. A guy at work picked me up. Hot tip: auto parts stores don't have spools of generic radiator hose like they used to. The counter man let me in the back and I rummaged until I found a hose for who-knows-what that I cut to length with my Bowie knife. All fixed now.
Went to DMC NW yesterday and threw a lot of money at #3922. Met Greg from Calgary and his wife. Very nice people. They were picking up parts for his club colleagues and dropping some neat stainless vent plugs for Toby P. to sell. They have either the DMC logo etched into it or the "nuclear" sign. You can illuminate it if you route a LED into the vent. Pretty cool.
Things done:
1. upgrade to Stage I to fix the exhaust manifold gasket leak (gasket was merely a shadow of itself) and to get all the plus when having a Stage I. Man is this thing loud! I could hear and feel the difference on my drive back. I cannot sneak into my driveway without the neighbourhood knowing anymore. It seems to have more power as well as it was pretty responsive on the way back, although the automatic tranny took a bit of the experience away.
2. recharged R12. It is blowing ice cold again. Although I am feeling a bit bad as an environmentalist. :worship:
3. replaced lower coolant hose between automatic transmission and heat exchanger in the coolant line. It started to leak ATF. I had the upper one replaced last time and now this one failed. Darn!
Stage I is fun!
Dyed my dash, binnacle, kneepads, and console using SEM Acura Charcoal along with the SEM vinyl prep and an adhesion promoter. This started with me getting a new binnacle and wanting it to better match the color of the interior. Hard to tell any difference in photos, but the before and after in person are quite striking. The interior looks new again! Next on the list are my doors and rear speaker panels.
Alex's tutorial was a huge help in this project. Thanks Alex!

A few in process shots:
Everything out

Discovered that my passenger knee pad was originally black! Surprise!

Old dye removed, showing sunburned dash.

Now the most frustrating part of the whole project. After re-installing nearly everything, I realized I should have test fitted the binnacle immediately after installing the dash. The dash was just a hair too far back to allow room for the binnacle. EVERYTHING had to come out again to get it to fit properly. That added/wasted 6+ hours. AHHH!!!!!

Wow David thats a big project, looks awesome
Thanks! Yes, took me a full Sunday and about 5 weeknights to get done. Probably about 25 hours of work. But I work slower than most people I think.
Rear trim and door panels for sure, but probably not for a few weeks. I need a break from car work for a little while after this project. A-pillars don't look bad in my opinion, a near match to the new dye. Depends on how much trouble I find they are to remove.
I thought about that. Masking it off while everything was out. I probably should have. I was just ready to be done with the project at that point. I'll come back to things in a few weeks and be excited about it again. I figure I'll do a better job anyway when I'm not burned out on interior work.
Your interior looks good Dave.
Today I started replacing my seatcovers.....not lovin' the task, but the result is looking good!
I replaced my old rusty&dusty blower motor, here is the trophy ;)

That interior looks brand new, great job
Fitted all new silicone hoses and flushed the coolant system... all in advance of doing a 1000+ mile road trip over the next week or so! What's the worst that could happen...
