Rodents are plenty bad enough but is that a Scotch Lok I see? If so that means a two-legged animal was in there before and, in my experience, those DPOs do even worse things to wiring.

Took a break from working for an hour today.
I was thinking it would be good if the washer fluid cover had a metal ring holding it on. Especially since some of the screw holes got messed up in the removal process.
I drew out the shape on some card stock.

I then measured in approximately 1/2" and drew the inside edge.

I looked around my shop and found exactly what I was looking for, a 1/8" thick piece of aluminum flat stock.

I cut out the card stock and used it to trace out onto the aluminum.

I also drilled more holes in the bottom of the cover. I'm not sure if it matters but I made sure to drill the holes away from where the washer tank sits.

It's funny what things are really valuable in stock form. Turns out these covers and the washer tank are NLA. If you manage to find one they are really expensive so I need to try to make this one work.

As I mentioned before we have a hardware store right near our shop. I stopped in and bought some Flex Seal and plastic repair. The Flex Seal is for the front impact beam (bumper) and the plastic repair is for the front facia and the washer tank cover.

We worked on the car from 5P to 8:30P.
Tam stripped the bumper then painted it.

She also blasted the second fronk hinge. She also spent a lot of time trying to remove the nuts from the facia without breaking them. Two studs have broke so far.
Sorry only one picture of Tam's work.

My plan for tonight was to trace out as much of the main harness as I could then make decision whether it can be saved or replaced. First I filled in a void under where the MC goes. I am assuming that leaking brake fluid ate away the original RTV that was there. I used Great Stuff. My hope is it is impervious to brake fluid.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b0beb1b679.jpg

I started by removing the center console. I had a feeling it was going to be a ridiculous pain in the butt. I was right. I watched a YouTube video on removing it but it was still confusing. It's just one of those things that until you just do it you'll never understand. So as I said....huge pain.

Some parts were already pre-broken before I started.

I'm not sure how I'm going to fix the pulled out rivets.
Removing the console revealed more chewed up wires. Apparently the rodents had a thing for purple wires. That's good for me because I already have some purple wire.

The rest of the wiring in there looked fine.

I tried to get eyes on as much of the main harness as I could and what I couldn't see I felt with my fingers.

I removed the glove box so I could check in behind the passenger side of the dash better.
Man this glove cover is HEAVY. It feels like it is cast iron or something. So weird.

There was a relay in the bottom of the glove box.

Next I taped yellow tape around the wiring near the tub. My thought was if I pull the harness back through the tub and when I pull the wiring all the way through the access hole by the washer tank and I can see the yellow tape then that means I have checked the full length of that wiring.

I wiggled the harness around while pushing on it. I went outside of the car and pulled on the wire I had taped onto the harness. Uh oh...it didn't want to budge. I went back and forth from inside pushing to outside then it happened....the wire broke loose of the harness. FU&%!!![emoji31][emoji36][emoji35]
Now what am I going to do! I tried pushing, I tried pulling, nothing. Great![emoji19]
I started scoping out how I would remove the fender and drill a hole in the tub with a hole saw. I couldn't believe I was in this predicament. I said screw it, said a little prayer and started yanking and twisting the wiring harness from inside the car. Talk about stressful!! But then it happened..just like a petite women giving birth to a 12# baby "pop" the wiring harness with the plugs popped out of the tub. Phew! THANK GOD!!

So in the end it actually worked out for the best. Now I was able to inspect the full length of the wiring harness and would have much better access for my repairs.

I started by removing the old wrap back to where my new wrap stopped. I am using 3M Super 30+ tape. I cleaned the excrement stains off the harnesses.

I taped up the harness.

I had one...maybe two female plug pins that looks dirty or corroded, one chewed through wire, and two wires with some light chewing of the insulation. Originally I was going to cut everything back and install new weatherproof connectors but the more I thought about I think I am going to extreme on some of this stuff.
I cleaned up the questionable connections with a tiny brush and a tiny file.

Getting old sucks. I had the hardest time seeing if the plug in pins were clean.

I put Great Stuff over the damaged wires. It seem kind of hack job but I don't think it really is. That stuff sticks like crazy, is flexible, rugged and fuel proof. I think it will do the trick. Also keep in mind there are fuses for everything. If I end up blowing a fuse on this circuit I'll know where to look.

I just need to install two, two conductor weatherpack connectors on the harness.
