While I was doing fuel stuff I decided to replace the fuel filter banjo bolt and copper washers.
Josh said it is fine that the new bolt is shorter. In fact that it is supposed to be.

You can see here that the stick bolt is actually a bit too long.

I put the accumulator back in and hooked everything back up. Pressurized the system, had a couple slow leaks that I fixed by snugging down a bit more. You have to get creative for some I'd these. Unfortunately that one same fitting still has a slow leak. So frustrating!!! I'm about ready to weld an adapter onto the accumulator.
I realized I was missing the back up nut on the shifter linkage so I took care of that.

By the way, make sure you use some kind of a lock washer, like a star washer on the M8 nut that holds the shift bell crank to the frame bracket near the accumulator. I can see it in the pictures. You should also use loctite on the bolt that runs through the bell crank, through the frame, and into that nut. That is a very common break-down issue. The nut loosens up so the pivoting of the bell crank starts to unwind the bolt until the bolt unscrews all the way and now you can't shift.
I'm quite sure I put thread lock on the bolt when I put it in. I'll use a star washer or thread locker on the nut also.
It's actually kind of funny to think about the bolt unthreading while someone is just driving around without a care in the world.
Probably not that funny when it's you that it is happening to.

That bolt is the only reason I have ever had to have my car towed.... Twice in 24 years. Learned my lesson.

Today I ordered a new fir tree fitting and nut for it. We will see if that fixes it. I am dreading removing the accumulator again.

We worked on the clutch master cylinder. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5494a69de6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d10bc165db.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8f58e7ed9b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...01cc09e283.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d976d5fccc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1cdf845593.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e7cfa9043b.jpg

With everything cleaned and lubed up I put the plunger back in. That's when we noticed the rubber dirt seal was ripped.
I checked on DMCH and D-go and neither one lists it. I may have to make something or try Delorean EU.
