Wow, a new front left fender! 1,21 gigawatts compatible!!! Good work 👍🏼
We worked on the car four 4 hours tonight.
We started with opening our $60 box from DMCH. I must admit it is quite a package.

There she is in all her beauty!
The brand new left front fender!
Probably the most frivolous spending of money we have ever done. Oh well.

Here's the rest of the parts that we had ordered from DMCH.

Okay back to the HVAC system.
I installed the new screen/expansion device. I'm not sure how far it is supposed to go down in. There are pinched spots on the tube that stop it from going too far but I never hit them with how far I pushed it in. Note- there is a flow direction mark on these. They need be installed in the correct orientation.

I put some anti-seize on the connection nuts.

I wrapped the lines with the cork tape. This stuff is kind of messy. I was tempted to just use foam tape instead. I capped the lines to keep stuff out if them for now.

Continuation of what we got done last night-
Installed a new sealing gasket on the HVAC box.

Tam made a new gasket and installed the new blower motor resistor.

The plug connector was in really bad shape (I had to use a tiny pry-bar to unplug it) so we are replacing it.

I don't like having a bunch of butt connectors all bundled in the same spot so I staggered them and installed my own heat shrink butt connectors. Unfortunately none of the new wire colors matched the old wire colors. This seems like no big deal, just match up what color came from where but....when you're having issues with you brain like short term memory issues etc. It makes it quite challenging. I ended up checking the same wire three or four times by the time I finally made the final crimp connection. Ugh......[emoji3061]

The plug in for the blower motor +12V didn't look to healthy either. It looks like this is a special "Grabby" connector. That's what I call them anyways. So I was hesitant to chop it off and install a standard F.M. spade connector. But I went for it. If I have trouble with it coming unplugged I will just use a zip tie screwed to the blower to hold it plugged in.

The last thing we did before we called it a night was to install a new throttle cable. If there ever was a time to do it this was time to do it it's now. I had purchased a throttle cable kit from D-go but then saw people on-line that had had issues with the cable not working smoothly after installing it. So I got spooked and ordered a cable kit from DMCH. Honestly I think the issues probably weren't with the cable but rather with how the people routed their cables.
We will keep the D-go one for a spare.
We ran the outer cable sheath first then we wiped down the cable and sprayed it with so dry graphite lube as we slid it through.

We tied it in on both ends. Tam said "How is that supposed to work" I said "Push the gas pedal and see". She was pretty happy to see/feel the gas pedal actually working the throttle on the car.
Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the final installation.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...12ef9d3104.jpg

We have a couple items that we need that nobody seems to have.
The first is the rubber air duct boot on this photo.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2f3ebcd42e.jpg
The second is the grommet for the fronk release cable.
We purchased a new cable but the cable doesn't come with it.

The D-go version actually comes with the grommet.

I just ordered some parts from D-go. I ordered the throttle cable grommet. I am hoping that fits and works.
I am wondering if anyone has ever 3D printed the duct adaptors.
Another option I was thinking is making them out of sheetmetal.
