Anyone know where on the parts pages the little light bulb is for the PRND21 indicator on the auto trans? I'd like to replace the bulb holder if possible, but can't seem to find it in the parts manual.

I think it's the same bulb used in the HVAC controls. AS for the holder itself, it's probably part of the harness. I actually plan to use a short white LED strip and replace the center biased bulb for a more evenly distributed light. After Dave's LED HVAC panel, the lighted window switches, and my LED instrument cluster lighting, it's about all that's left.
I ordered even parts for my LS swap today. Wow this is a lot of money, lol. Will make pick a good part selling my old PRV
You mean this socket. I have a manual so i dont know what the auto version light looks like but if its like what Michael says i can send you this. This is from my hvac panel. I have a LED board like Michael does also so i have plenty little things like this that i saved when i did a bunch of custom lighting on 11035. If you are interested then send me your mailing address via private message and I can get it to you in the mail.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0ca58148f9.jpg

I think that would look good if you put a small little LED strip in there for a nice even displacement of the lighting throughout the gate selector. I know what you mean about putting a standard LED in it because my wife's 2005 Jeep Liberty her automatic console shifter light went out and it was originally green so I replaced it with a green LED but I noticed the light is an evenly distributed but I do plan on doing some custom stuff to her Jeep that she just doesn't know about yet lol

Decided to take the D for a trip to the post office. Put the heat on since it's about 60 outside and pull out of the garage. When I went to move forward it was hard shifting, very hard to get into second gear also (I have the 5 speed). So I turned around and took my daily driver instead. When I got back I drove the D around the block and no problems noted. Strange, there was no grinding it just felt like the gear oil was very stiff.
I'll have to try it again on a colder morning.
had the A/C system converted from R12 to R134a today (just in time for the lovely fall weather! :P ).
the high side schrader valve had failed and almost all of the R12 had escaped already.
I didn't replace any of the original components as everything else is sealed and in healthy, working order. I just had my local shop evac what was left, of the R12, backflush the system, fill with 6oz of Esther oil, put on the 134a adapters and put in about 2lbs of 134a.
A/C now blows nice and cold - even at idle:

After talking about it, I dedicated an hour or so and replaced my single led bulb in my shift gate with a led strip. Looks awesome and I used my monokote trim sheet to make some nice even red windows instead of the transparent marker crap. The interior light journey is complete although I may swing by the hobby store tomorrow and pick up another trim sheet and do the gear letters in green. Next up, all exterior LEDs.

Holy shit dude, a tiger is trying to steal your car!!!
Worse....a Tigger is trying to steal the car!
Tigger has been my copilot in every car I have owned since the 90's. I can't even remember where I got him, I think my GF at the time won him for me in one of those crane games. He used to stay in the cargo net until his service as a pilot in my air force (seriously the plane looked like it was made for him...so I had to draft him) After I sold the jet, he returned to my car but this time with honor as the gear shift guardian.

This is what I did to my transmission selector (small strip of LEDs). It distributes the light quite nicely and every letter is nice and bright (and the red selection indicator can actually be seen). The only issue I had to address was light 'leakage' around the edges of the letter strip.
Now that looks really nice Michael and lights up extremely well and does that automatic shifter Justice is night. Have you thought about changing out the light bulbs behind your hazard light and headlight switch? I put a green one in my headlight switch to kind of match the green indicator in the instrument cluster.

2 Days and several beers I completely read Blended the car using the blending pads in the DeLorean Car Care cleaning kit. Night and day difference for how it used to look and all the scratches are gone and I found you get a better luster with the stainless steel if you actually blend the stainless using a stainless steel polish while blending back and forth. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8c864a50fc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c6ac976d8a.jpg

What's up with that spot on the passenger side of the rear fascia???
EDIT:Totally not nitpicking because your car looks nicer than mine
Beautiful finish! Are you running stock tire sizes?
The fascia's need paint. Still all old and faded and flaking. Im taking care of all that after the new year. Just a few weeks ago i fixed the eye browling with alumimum bars so i figure i do it now then after its painted. A body shop up the street from me quoted around $1000 to do both and im removing the fascia's again and sending them to him. He is know for some great paint jobs on some bad ass cars around town.

Last paragraph in the KB article explains the bare urethane/lack of paint on the black portions.
Michael, I see your point. Looked more like a smudge to me.
Disassembley time....
-VOD clean up
-Fix vacuum leaks
-silicone hoses
-and other stuff while in there...
Let the fun begin...

When I first bought #10515, one of the four rims had been replaced by the original owner because it had been damaged. But, the replacement rim was a grey rim, not silver like the other three. That’s been bugging me for a long time. That, combined with the paint starting to chip on a couple of the rims, got me thinking about replacing the rims. But, at $200+ for each rim, I’m not excited about that.
So I got to thinking about Plasti Dip – the rubberized spray paint. People have painted $200,000 cars with Plasti Dip. Click the photo to the right to see a bunch of examples, then watch the video to see how easy it is to do the rims.
Plasti Dip is pretty inexpensive, and is ‘easily’ reversible. It withstands hand-washing, comes in tons of colors and treatments, and seems to be a ‘miracle paint.’ So, I figured I’d take a chance and see how it worked on the DeLorean. I thought flat-black would go well, matching the bumpers. (Although I *REALLY* like the machined rims that Toby Petersen is doing in Seattle!) You might ask, “What does ‘easily reversible’ mean?” Well, it appears that Plasti Dipcomes off by either peeling it off by hand, or by a high-pressure sprayer, or if it’s being stubborn, to spray the paint with Goof Off, then hit it with the pressure washer. Again, people have sprayed entire cars worth hundreds-of-thousands of dollars – so I figured it’s unlikely to do any damage to the aluminum rims of a DeLorean. So, I headed to Walmart and got 2 cans for $4.55 each.
How I Did It
Unlike the numerous other videos of people painting their rims, the biggest issue with the DeLorean rims is the fins. There are 45 fins and they’re pretty close together. And, when painting anything, the surface needs to be *CLEAN*! DeLorean rims are notoriously hard to keep clean. So, I decided to take the wheel off the car and take it to the back yard to clean it as good as possible. I used the pressure washer (and got soaked trying to get in between all the fins!) and a couple of brushes. Then I used a rag and my pinky finger to get between every fin. Then I pressure washed it again. I don’t think I could have gotten it any cleaner. I used an air hose to blow out any excess water and let it dry in the sun until it was a bone-dry.
Again, with the fins being so close together, I knew it would be difficult to get good spray coverage. So, I came up with the idea of putting the wheel on an IKEA lazy susan (Snudda) so I could spin the wheel and cover everything evenly. I covered the lazy susan with paper towels, then put it on top of a box I covered with a trash bag. Once I got the wheel centered so it would spin easily, I was ready to go. And it worked better than I’d hoped!
Even though I watched a lot of videos, I thought I would mask-off the tire, just to make it easier to clean the tire from the overspray. Yeah… Nothing I tried would stick to the tires! So I just trusted the videos. One of the things I learned from the videos, is that you want to do a few very light coats, to allow the paint to ‘bond’ to the surface. Which gives later coats something to stick to. Again, it worked perfectly. I ultimately did 6 coats (about 1/2 of 1 can), waiting 25 minutes between each coat. And the next day, just like in the videos, the overspray on the tires came off as easy as sliding an egg out of a teflon-coated pan! Then it was just a matter of spraying some tire cleaner on a rag and wiping off the remnant from the tire.
I’m going to do this to the other three rims before DeLorean Weekend, to see how well it holds up over the next 3 weeks, and the drive to Vegas. If it looks awful, I’ll take more pics and show it – then I’ll stop by a self-service car wash and do some cleaning. If it looks good, I’ll add more photos to this post as an ‘update’, to show how it’s held up over time. If it does hold up, I hope it inspires other DeLorean owners to give it a try. And if you’re thinking “I don’t like flat black”, maybe you’d like ‘Blaze Orange’ with a Metalizer finish…
