Tweaked with custom ceramic coated exhaust, extremely aggressive camshafts that also offer a great idle and fuel economy in an automatic (yes our cam grinds are different between manuals and autos) and a few other tricks. Glad you are enjoying it!

Yes, I'm enjoying it. The most interesting side-effect of the DPI mods are how quiet the engine is. I used to have to raise my voice to speak to the passenger at highway speeds, but I don't have to do that now. The car is as quiet as a modern car with all the shrouds they put under the hood these days.
By the way, Josh, can you fabricate a new transmission for the Delorean? I'd like one, 6-speed, please, and be able to dynamically set the shift points (economy or drag racing). Please install by December, thanks.
Sorry Farrar..... Los Angeles
Interesting thread, but until now only the second reply was talking about the differences between the Stage 1 and Stage 2 engines. Can somebody explain me what are the upgrades compared to a stock engine?
What brand of coil?

Its a BRAND NEW old stock coil.
And it works great!
I didn't think I got new injectors in my upgrade, shortly after (maybe a month) I was having power fall out issues and brought it into the shop. they tested the injectors and found three that were faulty and needed replacement.
I pulled one a few weeks ago, it had no spray. I wonder if I didnt get any injectors as well and thats why she quit running on me. Of course had I gotten the other 5 things out of 10 done, paint the fascias, paint the rims, blend the stainless, front end recall kit and new windshield my car might still be running

you're a moderator, not a censor. Explain to me why we can have what seems to be an entire page devoted to "ed bashing" and yet when one member shows a little bit of sarcasm that implies mechanics (not Tony specifically) at DMCFL fucked up, you threaten to censor his comment. While it is very gracious of Tony to offer his services to 1mcfly4u (and me) its kinda pointless because WE"RE IN VIRGINIA!!! and we're not rich. We simply can't afford to send our cars down there to have work done that may or may not be necessary because of a possible error on DMCFL's part.
Again, 1mcfly4u isn't "bashing" Tony like everyone else in this website seems to bash Ed whenever the opportunity presents itself. He's stating a fact. That as it happens was helpful to me and maybe others who read the thread. If the injectors on his car were replaced, as mine were, then why 1 month after he gets the car back does he pull one, and it doesn't function at all? Why in about a month did I have power issues and take my car to another shop and they find 3 faulty injectors? While I admire Tony's honor is accepting responsibility for possible oversights on his mechanics part. No one reasonable can expect him to stand over EVERY SINGLE CAR and monitor. For what its worth I know for a fact that the main mechanic who performed work on my vehicle doesn't work there any more, and in the year my car was down there they went through two different "head of sales" or whatever you wanna call them. Take that for what it is. But don't turn into a censor. 1mcfly4u is not being fowl, or downright insulting, he's frustrated and its apparent in his tone, thats all.
Never said there was any bashing, and I can appreciate his situation but he has made it clear he is displeased and if he wants to voice it, start a thread about it in the review section. I don't want read about every time someone mentions a Stage whatever upgrade. You two are welcome to hash it out in a review thread but I'm not having it here.
Nobody is "hashing" anything out. We're investigating and collaborating which is what a forum is all about. Why hasn't a DMC rep come on this thread and post a list of itemized details of what exactly is done to make a Stage II a Stage II. That would eliminate all speculation and this discussion would be over.
The last part is more tongue in cheek as it was pointed out that I only did 5 of the 10 required things, I simply listed off a few of the things listed that were on my checklist of things for the car that were said "had" to be done.
I have no problem listing my two walkarounds, the original, priced at the tune of 26k, the second at 11k. The difference in the two was a simple question, What NEEDS to be done to make the car driveable and roadworthy again, 15k was taken off of the list.
I have not made this anywhere as near as public as I could have, I am simply giving my experience with the stage II upgrade. There have been a few people who have PM'd and emailed me about my situation and I have filled them in with a bunch of information and I am more then happy to share it with anyone else that asks privately.I've always said the Stage II was a great upgrade and I love it, the service on the other hand was less desirable but not horrible.
As far as the bashing, that's silly. I like thirdmanjs take on it, Ed gets bashed it's a good time for all, say something negative about someone else, it's hate mongering. I always thought this was an open forum to discuss, ask questions and vent concerns amongst our small group of owners. Apparently this is not so, so please Sean, Mike or anyone else that's a mod feel free to delete any of my bashing comments.
I find it great that Tony is offering to honor the work, I don't have 2k at the moment(1k shipping down, 1K shipping back) to take him up on it, not to mention this was three years ago.
Gasohol gdiscussion can be continued here:

Whoops - it wasn't quite accurate (my bad). Stage 2 also includes (in addition to what was mentioned) plugs/wires/cap/rotor. Effective last last year it also includes powdercoating the engine parts that get removed during the installation (intake, W-pipe, valve covers, timing cover).
DMC likes to improve their improvements. Unfortunately, that sometimes hurts us early adopters. (My car, for example, had Stage I put on in 2004 (I think -- would have to go back and find the receipt) when it was only exhaust, and it is not stainless steel.) However, it's a boon to those who wait for a little while to upgrade their cars.

I might be wrong, but I believe that the price of the Stage 1 exhaust has increased as it has evolved, as well. No doubt related to an increased materials cost.Quote:
