Is the bottom wide open? Should be OK, nothing is as good as out in the open but this is much better than a closed box.

I will give it a try and keep a close eye on the wiring.

Took her to work today to see if the cold start issue has been resolved. And it is! Whohoo! Fired right up after 1.5 weeks. :headbang:

Next up: final drive seals.

We must have tugged on the cable tree when we removed and re-seated the CSV and WUR plugs, which caused the connector for the Temp II Sensor to slip off, but hide the fact by keeping the rubber boot still slightly attached to the back of the sensor.

Yes. The Thermal Time Switch. I always confuse the naming for my two cars (Temp II is on the VW Vanagon but it has the same function).

Bless you Dave. The man at the right place. I was just wondering why my resistors were getting so hot and smelled. Thought I had a short somewhere.

But is it natural to heat up all the attached wiring harness that much to the point of smelling.? It does not smell like burnt. Just like very hot wiring. I found that a bit extreme.

-Replaced the broken trip reset shaft.
-Polished the gauge cluster lens.
-Installed the Stephen fiberglass repro binnacle for pics and to decide if I want to keep it (versus original repaired binnacle.)

drove it to the local Cars and Coffee meetup. left the house with ~1/4 of gas in the tank. got home with ~1/2 tank. i didn't stop at the gas station.... :8ball:

probably will add the updated DMC fuel pump/sender combo to my winter to-do-list with that gauge being so inaccurate at times.
