1982 Frame Off Restoration

The cases got dry blasted then wet blasted by the wife while I inspected the transmission internals and made a parts list.
After the case halves were done I dried them off with compressed air. Rather than messing around with painting the blank off plate I just coated it with gray RTV.

I removed the adjuster nut. Cleaned it up, removed the metal plate, the o-ring, the seal, and cleaned the o-ring mating surface.
Man the seals came out hard! I managed to ding up the inside if the adjuster nut removing the seal. I talked to someone that has rebuilt several of these transmissions and he said it is normal for this gear to look like this. He sent this picture and said the following:

"The little teeth missing on fifth seem to be a common thing. They dont harm the function of the transaxle missing.

Both bearings not being a press fit is normal. Inspect the rollers and races but everything is likely to be just fine to be cleaned and re installed. At most people will replace the differential bearings."

We worked on the transmission again today.
My wife did all the work on cleaning it up. She spent hours on it. I told her not to worry about it being perfect. We still have a broken off starter bolt and clutch slave cylendar bolt that both need to be drilled out.

I tried installing the input shaft seal over the coupler.
