Valve covers getting installed. I talked to Andy L (82DMC) and decided to put Hylomar on the valve cover side of the gaskets only. New S.S. bolts and wave washers with copper anti-seize got installed.
Things you learn over time...don't tighten any of the bolts until you have them all threaded in.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7f2487e12b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e70f7eacb0.jpg

I recently posted on FB something about my transmission mounts from D-go needing to be modified a bit for them to fit in the transmission bracket.
I was advised to not use the transmission mounts and furthermore to not use the new engine mounts I bought.
I had heard that D-go/Del. EU had reliability issues with the rubber part of their mounts but when I bought mine it explicitly stated on their website that they were selling a new version of the mounts. So I bought them. I got worried with more than one person warning me to not use the mounts because they'll fail so I emailed Arron. He assured me that there was a change to the mounts and the ones I bought should be g2g. I posted his response on FB and was still told not to use them.
I say all that to say this. We are using the mounts. They may fail and if they do I'll have to deal with it. Hopefully they'll be fine. Why am going to ignore sound advice and use them anyways?
1. We already have them and we are ready to install the engine/transmission in the frame.
2. We paid for them. It would be hard for me to throw brand new mounts in the trash.
3. We would have to pay for new ones.
4. Arron has assured me that these are g2g. He is either telling me the truth. If he is BSing me then I guess I'm a fool.
5. I want to see what happens. Part of me wants to see these fail just so I can see when and how these fail (if they do)
The down side?
1. If they fail I'll still have to buy new mounts.
2. If they fail on a road trip and the failure is catastrophic then I'll have to have the car trailed home (maybe I'll keep my old mounts in the fronk of the car)
3. The biggest one of all....changing the mounts after the whole car is together will be a pain in butt.

Andy L. warned me that you can't just bolt up the transmission mounts to the frame, drop the transmission in place, then line up the bolt hole on the brackets. It doesn't work doing it that way. It's a pain in the arse.
Engine and transmission bolted in.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3883412c65.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...479da3d95e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a81b965661.jpg

Decided to install the exhaust headers next. Why? Because they are cool!
The left side went on no problem. The right side is a tight fit. I took the alternator off. Still wouldn't fit. I thought I was going to have to get the engine lift set back up, remove the engine mount bolt, and lift the engine to get it installed. [emoji19]
I spent some time looking at the situation. I decided to remove the rear most exhaust stud. Walah! Success![emoji846]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...833b49d17a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d36d345df5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e321a9a7aa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bbbad3107f.jpg

Next we installed the drive axle shafts. Anti-seize on threads, torqued to spec. As I installed these I was glad we just spent the money for rebuilt ready to go axle shafts rather than rebuilding ours. They are perfect. Thanks D-Ind. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c2c3815728.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...67c8c96206.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b907a08527.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...46f8e2031c.jpg

Next I installed the SS dipstick tube I got from D-Ind. I had already previously reamed out the inside of the tube because it had a ridge. It took some messaging with Josh to figure out how this thing gets installed. I'm not crazy about the design but it works. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e5a40e77dd.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a5424ec85f.jpg

While working on the frame I decided to remove the clips holding the brake line as recommended by Andy L. The reason being if the line ever has to be removed/replaced in the future there is no way to get to the clips to remove them with the body on the frame.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b5215bace8.jpg

I messaged this picture to Josh because I was trying to figure out how his one piece clutch line was suppose to plumb up. The original adapter gets removed.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ce136f6e86.jpg

Next we installed the AC pump. I chased the threaded holes on the valve cover. Luckily I had some new bolts to replace the old bolts. I made myself a kit of metric bolts a while ago.
Things that bug me...four small bolts to hold the brackets onto the valve covers but six large bolts to hold the compressor to the bracket. Is this middle bolt really needed?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a1aae8e0c8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...072db35f7b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3fe5b4f6ed.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4f577347dc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...57ef3476fa.jpg
