Sounds like a good idea if I ever have to take my car in somewhere for service. I think I'll print up a template and just paint it on instead. I don't think stickers will last all that long under my car with the debris on roads down here and the amount of driving I do.
Such a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, low 70', low humidity. Took my wife shopping. I had the dog so I had to sit in the car while she picked up a couple of things. When she got done I went into the bathroom, I get back and she picked up a couple of other things in the parking lot :kisses:

Finally hit 60,000 miles!
Not today, but this weekend I have;
- Replaced out door-seals, both sides
- New Wipers
- New Washer Motor for wipers
- New Hand-brake cables
- Painted the handbrake bracket with anti-rust paint (zinc coating was damaged from previous welding)
- Rear fog-light modification
- Removed more of the P/O wiring changes
- Took off the deflector plates, cleaned the underside of the car
And thusly passed my MOT test with no advisories :D Now just need to renew my tax and insurance, then wait for summer to roll in...
Today, I lined up the ignition distributor, removed the alternator belt and tensioner and replaced them both, and made some measurements for exhaust stuff.
Enjoyed the 60 degree weather here, which is unusually warm for this time of year. Took the DeLorean out for a spin for the first time in a couple of months. Saw someone that kept driving by my house after I got back and slowed down to look into my garage to see the car. I understand their desire to see it, but they sure went about it in a creepy way. I felt like I was getting stalked.
Oh yea. Been there. Some random guy two years ago followed me home, parked at the end of my driveway and came walking into my garage. I'm like, "ah, can I help you?" "Oh, no, just really had to see your car. I'm glad you don't live far or I might have had to run you off the road to get you to stop." Gotcha. Well, thanks for that. Sheesh, if our gun laws were the same as yours I'm not thinking this story unfolds the same way...

I enjoyed the first Warm day we've had for a while, by driving up North to meet fellow DeLorean owner and member, Andy Blackmon in a Jack's parking lot.
What started out as a meeting between the two of us, (He let me drive his stage 2 car :Headspin: ), resulted in a *Mini* car show.
We found that when two DeLoreans are in a parking lot, (visible from the road), people stop by, take pics and ask lots of questions.
Great day!

Braved the 80* weather here in AZ to wash it...

How's all that snow treating the rest of the country? :mooning:
One of my headlights went out, so I went to Autozone and replaced both with Sylvania Xtravisions. The Ultrastars looked good, but I didn't think they were worth the price considering how little better they seemed than the Xtravisions.
I also picked up a lug nut brush to clean the rims, and a set of black rubber floormats.
I completed the passenger side valve adjustment. There were a couple that were very out of spec. The engine is much quieter now.

I'm thinking of taking my exhaust off and having it stripped and re-powder coated. It looks terrible.
So after two years of stripping, scrapping, locating donors, welding, and epoxy coating, 774's Donor frame is.....Complete!
And Every rare chance I have of mating the body is stolen away by endless snow storms. I can't even begin to express my DEEP hatred for the snow this year. It snows, melts a little bit enough to do the body, my day off comes around, snows again! And being that I do not have a garage to work in makes this task near impossible to tackle. During the first snowfall I was bundled up like Luke on Hoth installing all four suspensions, steering rack, radiator, and various other components over frozen ground and snow :poke:. The Body is on blocks all ready for the drop yet its surrounded by a foot of snow and the snow is still coming. My goal of driving it to DCS is slowly thinning the more it snows.
Anyway, Here are a few pictures of the completed frame awaiting its body. Thanks Matt Bozievich for the donor car and to Tom Sweeney for his courteous and professional work performed and of course Meghan for not only LAB metal-ing and POR-15 painting the entire frame while I welded but for not being the average chick.
Please Note: Due to the ice covering the tarp I'm unable to take more current photos. Since these photos were taken the Heater pipes and hose are all clipped and completed as well as the brake cables, SS clutch line and radiator hose on the left. The coolant pipes have also been completed along with all new rubber fuel hoses on the hard lines and many other little odds and ends. The Frame has new-ish DMCH Eibach Shocks thanks to Steve Graham, all new bushings everywhere, coils, Blue Silicone hoses everywhere, new thinner cooling fans, new rubber fuel hoses, brake rotors and bearings, and many more parts. With much satisfaction and relief everything that mounts to the crumple tubes went on perfectly with no errors. I was mortified throughout the fabrication process on what the final outcome would be but they are GREAT! I can definitely make those again but Its not pleasant at all.

and as a special treat, I invite you on a trip into the gas tank :
http://youtu.be/jP4encJgyfw
The new DMCH fuel pump/sender unit looks really good but the only problem I have is that I am unable to install the cover: It's hitting the top of the fuel pump. I suspect that my fuel tank may be pushed up a little too far... And the reason for that is that I think I put some of those protective foam strips between the close out plate and the tank during my reno a few years back. Hmmm.....
Are you sure it's pushed down all the way and oriented like the install guide specifies? I had that issue too and it came down to alignment (rotation) of the pump. Another owner had a similar issue and it ended up being that the clamp wasn't installed correctly and the pump was riding on top of it. Worth a look.
Good point, Jon. The fit between the pump and the hole in the tank is very tight. I even put a dab of oil around the lip to get it to slide in. But once I installed the clamp I wasn't 100% sure that the pump was actually fully seated any longer. It's like it wanted to slide back out/up due to the compression. However, the interference between the cover and the connector is too significant for the seating of the pump to be the problem. It needs another inch of clearance. Also, no matter how much I rotated the pump (check the picture, it is rotated in the exact direction the instructions tell you to) the pump connector would still hit the cover. That's why I thought that maybe the tank is just sitting to high up, but I may be wrong...
Your input is much appreciated.
Maybe I'll shoot another one of my award winning videos :)
This video might also help in troubleshooting, walks through the entire install process, but I've linked to the very end where he installs the cover:

Drove it out to Napa yesterday. Can't wait for CA-12 to be finished, the traffic really takes the fun out of that drive...
Replaced the stock 85MPH speedo with the updated 140MPH version. Interesting that the blue is a bit darker on the reproduction ones:

I also saw another thread where someone painted the needles on the gauges with nail polish and thought that would be interesting. I am the guy that has the ultraviolet LEDs in my doors though, so thought it would be more interesting with a UV reactive paint:

I replaced the illumination incandescent lights with UV LEDs. . .they are a bit week, so I am going to add a few strips of 5050 LEDs at the top of the instrument cluster. This pic is with an external UV light. Will post another when I get the proper UV stuff sorted:

I made it 27,000 miles yesterday! I've put on a little over 9,000 of them since 2008.

So.... when you replace the Speedo.... now the car has 2 miles on it...?
Yeah. . . I would have liked to try and do the change over when I had actually rolled the old one over 100,000, but needed to redo cabled, angle drive, etc. so did not want to wait for that. That is why I took a number of before and after pics to help document the differences. Either I added 8000 miles to the car, or removed 92,000. At this stage in its life, I figure the additional 8k would not make a huge difference. . . and I have the differences documented in case I ever sell the car.
This. Ta da!

Just ordered a DMOCO shift-plate. Hopefully it jives with 5875's shift linkage.
Took the car out for its first real drive in 20yrs and everything went very well:bigclap:. Got my Tail light saga figured out - I had intermittent flashing of turn signal bulbs, lights inop intermittently and they would dim and flicker intermittently. I had the rivets soldered and poof! All problems gone! The board must of had a bad ground issue. Now all lights work and are brighter than ever!
Technically I didn't do it, Danny and DMC California did but,
Re-glued and bolted roof together
Re-adjusted Torsion bars
Adjusted drivers door alignment
Installed re-enforcement bracket for the door strut lower ball stud
New door struts and sunshade struts.
Yikes, all in a days work!
Thanks to Jim for this post a couple hundred pages back on this thread. :D
While my fan worked, it was making horrible noises that were so concerning to my wife that she didn't want to drive in the car. Oiling the fan only went so far, fixed the screeching, but still noisy. I bought the PM106 Jim suggested, and it is a perfect fit, Identical to stock.
