We finally got winter in Maine today so we spent some time working on the car today. 10 hours total.

My ADHD kicked in so I was all over the place.
Tammie started by removing the rivets from the engine bay light. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cd896dc681.jpg
I tested my plastic push pin. First I tested it with two washer then one washer. It worked great with either thickness. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...592392fd0e.jpg

I used my special tool to remove the push pin. Brilliant!

I did a Dunkin run and went to Napa while Tam worked of blasting parts that will get painted.
I looked in the binder and found the push pin number to match the one I had. Unfortunately they only had one pack of them (9) so I ordered more.

I bought more engine paint while at Napa also.

I made the decision to remove the asbestos heat shield. The exhaust we will be running won't have a crossover pipe so the heat shield is not needed. I'm glad I removed because the mounts were really rusty. Drilling the rivets was like drilling white powder. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e24af78f3e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a52a0e710d.jpg
I tried punching the rivets up through but they didn't want to go. I got thinking...why do I need to remove the rivets? I don't so I just glazed over them with some black RTV silicone.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e2e1edf131.jpg

I decided to start cleaning the tub. This is the ADHD part. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...56da06eb54.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...02feb637b7.jpg
I found some numbers etched into the left pontoon. Kind of interesting.

Next I spent some time messing around with the engine cover. One of the threaded inserts spun and came out of the fiberglass. I chased the threads then put it back in with some bearing retainer compound on it.

Forgot to add that we spent a bunch of time messing with the glass bead blaster. It wasn't working well at all for some reason.
