I think I may have missed a session of working on the car. Trying to get caught up on posts.
Parts from D-go ordered way after I ordered my parts from D-Ind showed up the other day. I'm pretty frustrated with D-Ind. I need the engine wiring harness. Josh is ghosting me now. Here's what showed up from D-go.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f23540fc08.jpg

During a lunch break I swapped out my frame to body square nuts with nice shiny new ones. The original ones weren't that bad but new ones were cheap. An extendable magnet worked good for this task. A couple of them were wedged in and had to be knocked loose with a hammer and punch. Poor engineering. The nuts should have been a bit larger or the holders a bit smaller. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...dde2b63819.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d601c272de.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9a35123fae.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f4adfb1e85.jpg

I was killing time at a discount tool place and bought some sanding disks and some wiring to be used to make new ground wires. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...584dd1a524.jpg

I also had a large wire crimp tool that I ordered online show up. I can't believe I didn't already have one of these. In typical weird Amazon tool fashion it came with a bunch of crimp on ring connectors...mmmmokay. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0c79ff02ce.jpg

Okay back to today, Saturday.
I decided to sand down the paint on the pontoons and engine bay. I had used a sanding disk to remove some black RTV from the engine bay. I got a bit too aggressive and left gouges in the fiberglass. So I mixed up some body filler and fixed a bunch of divets in the fiberglass. Of course I later found a couple areas I mixed so I had mix up more. After the filler dried I sanded and blended it in. Meanwhile Tam was working on other parts.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b0af0957a0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0dc3f30450.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1233bb09eb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...01bc796e36.jpg

We talked about the engine bay paint. SEM trim black was strongly considered. That would give a matte finish which wouldn't show the imperfections but it wouldn't be fuel proof or the correct finish. I said screw it and went with the 2k Hot Rod Satin Black. This time I reminded myself to not freak out when it looked really shiny at first. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3ec1c17ade.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a58c92ff48.jpg

Tammie blasted the brake booster. Man this thing is really pitted. We may just replace it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2e025d95b1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...de8ec24d54.jpg
