How To: Check the distributor reluctor - stator air gap

I couldn't find anything online that shows how to check the reluctor / stator air gap on the DeLorean distributor. So, for your viewing pleasure, I made my own. It's not hard aside from needing to remove the distributor from the car so you can turn the shaft as needed. You check the gap much like checking a spark plug or valve lash gap. Brass feeler gauges required (non-magnetic).


Note that you probably have no reason to check this unless you or someone else has had the distributor out and replaced parts like maybe the vacuum advance or the pickup coil.
