My LH rear light was intermittent and it turns out moving the connector a little makes or breaks the connection. My rear light circuit boards have gold plated fingers so the problem is the OEM...
The schematic and some parts define which side of the car is defined as left hand (sitting in the car looking out the front). This is done rather than saying drivers side or passenger side because...
I just did an export from Fusion360 of the same HVAC face plate from TinkerCAD and the .stl file is 562 Kbytes. The .stl from TinkerCAD is 437 Kbytes. I wonder why the size difference. I may have...
Maybe your thermostat is stuck open. You can start the car cold and let it idle while feeling the pipe where the otterstat is mounted. It should stay cold and then suddenly get hot when the...
TinkerCAD now lets you export to Fusion360. I tried it with my HVAC faceplate and it worked. I can now view it on Fusion360 and maybe edit it. I could export it to a step file but my design did...
Those symptoms tell me your mixture is lean.
I would think a 1/4" steel plate would do.
You can't make design changes to a .STL file so it is not a source file.
That is one most people use but I don't use it enough to justify the cost. Maybe 1 or 2 months a year max.
I'm looking for a CAD design software just to do "engineered parts". I don't want something that can animate or do modeling of cartoon charterers. Yes I know of many but you have to pay a large...
I would not think a small vacuum leak would lean the mixture because the lambda O2 sensor would compensate.
I have run fuel additives hoping to fix problems. No harm was done but not typical it fixes anything. I see google searches show everything can increase affect smog testing. But i did see lean...
If your injectors were all working the same, my guess is that's not your problem. What does it cost you now to get it tested?
Good idea to go early. The offer still stands for the ECU. You would not have to install it, just unplug the connector from your old one and plug it into mine.
If you want to run your next smog test with my redesigned lambda ECU, send me your shipping address.
That is a good idea. I have a spot welder that I could attach battery cables to which would probably also work. Also would not create a big spark.
I agree that testing the injectors is your next step. When you push the air flap, don't press it very far since the testing is mostly low RPMs. Do they put any load on it (Dyno) during the test?
I've been thinking a lot about your failed emissions. Since you passed at the same place before, maybe they changed or updated their equipment or software. The calibration should be the same but...
Your numbers are using dwell reading on an 8 cylinder scale. If your meter has 4 cylinder you use the book values (double those numbers you stated). You really are not changing mixture when the...
Good to know. I've had a couple cats start to rattle but that turned out just the large block of honeycomb lost it's seal around the metal. Otherwise it looked good inside.
I used wire brushes on a Dremal hand held flex extension to clean my VOD.
I don't think the CAT can break up on it's own. It can plug up if it was using leaded gas, that was an option back when unleaded first showed up.
I don't think it would be clean like that without the PO doing a hollow out work. How it passed before is a mystery. Yes you would have some chunks of CAT in the muffler if the CAT broke up. You...
I get that forward sometimes when I think it went into reverse. I've learned to always back out slow, looking out the side window. That quickly shows me if I'm moving in the correct direction.
