You should have no problem with taking off the fuel tank cover. The fuel tank is usually tightly wedged in there so it shouldn't move. Not saying it can't move I just know that when I took mine of 5...

It's not Delorean.
It's a aftermarket oil cooler. Could be for engine or automatic transmission oil.

I believe the engine and transmission are still in the car but were not restored to running condition because they knew it was going to be on permanent display.

It would probably be better to paint them in place.
The side louvers next to the doors can come out but the clips that hold them in might break off. The ones with the windows can only be taken out...

There's a small hose on the upper right side of the radiator that you need to bleed as well. Air can't travel from the radiator to the engine very well.
