    Luggage caompartment carpet thing..

Looking for any advice on what the best way to flatten out the pressboard part that the carpet in the luggage compartment is glued to? The board itself is in good condition, just warped. I thought about getting it wet/soaked and putting bricks on it...but thought I'd ask here before doing that...here's a couple o' pictures...

Use hot water and either let it sit under some weights until it dries, or measure it and make a new one out of high quality plywood or something.

Just get a piece of masonite from the home center and cut a new one with a jig saw... Doesn't need to be anything more than that.

Or just get a new one through DMCH. Apparently the carpet on the reproductions are much thicker and have no need for the backboard any longer. I think they're only around $60 too!
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy a DeLorean and that's sort of the same thing....

Yeah, getting another and tracing this one was an idea I was thinking too. The carpet on mine is still in excellent condition, so I cant see spending the money on a new one.

Guess Ill do the hot water first...if that dont work as well as I want then off to home depot.

    Thanks

Just be sure to let the water soak in for a while, fill a kiddie pool or something that it can sit and soak. Then make sure to press it flat all at one, not in sections.

Recently bought reproduction DMCH trunk carpet and it definitely needs the board if you want to put anything with any weight in the trunk. I'm planning to use Starboard or similar HDPE product and water jet cut it to OE board dimensions.

I'm looking to make one with a cnc machine. Does anyone know the dimensions, at least the outside dimensions and possibly a decent picture of one I can use to create a cad file? I don't currently have one to work from.
