It works great. Ring has one cut and it just snaps over the tank ridge. Simple hose clamp really locks it in place. Hose clamp bought at ACE hardware.

Here it is with the pump installed. I used a 3D printed top hold down plate that is 0.125" inch thick ABS. It does seem strong enough and much less work than making that plate out of metal.
When your clamping the bottom plate, put the 4 screws in to hold it up against the ridge.
